No updates on the puppy yet. We'll see her again tonight, and then we'll pick her up tomorrow. I can't wait!!

I picked up this biography on Jack and Jackie Kennedy, and it was so fascinating that I could hardly put it down. They're so iconic, but I've never really made it a point to know anything about them. Im glad I found this bio, because it was SO interesting. I had to put a quote from it in my sig, because it's probably one of the best and fascinating biographies I've ever read.

You're always reading biographies. If I ever finish "Wuthering Heights" that's what I'm reading next. I don't like to not finish books or read two at a time. Since I don't like this novel at all, it's taking forever.

I love biographies. The best one I've ever read was Katherine Hepburn's, but the Marlon Brando one I'm reading now is pretty damn close.

Lisa - you don't like Wuthering Heights? It's probably my favourite of all classic novels. I love the romantic and wild nature of it.

Biographies are my favorite type of books. The one that I just read on Jackie and JFK is probably the best one I've ever read, with Natalie Wood: A Life coming in close second. I'd strongly recommed the Kennedy biography. It's called Jack and Jackie: Portrait of an American Marriage. It's absolutely fascinating. The most interesting aspects was how Jack was raised by his parents. His dad taught him that it was okay to cheat on his wife, and his mother emotionally neglected him and the rest of the Kennedy sibs. It really damaged him and in turn, his relationship with Jackie. I do think they really loved each other, and after their last baby died, I think JFK was really changing into a better man. It's all so tragic and sad.

The book also has some great family shots and photos of JFK with the kids. They're so cute and sad at the same time.

I can't get into my Natalie Wood biography because the writer seems to be a twelve year old writing an English paper She insists on quoting everthing, instead of writing a narrative, even just inserting one or two words. She's so interesting, but the writer makes it difficult for me to read more than a page or two at a time.

I can't read another JFK or Marilyn Monroe biography I must have read about 3 or 4 on each of them, and I did my school history dissertation on JFK, meaning I had to wade through about 20-30 books on politics and economics, it's really put me off JFK! I bought my boyfriend's mum a Jackie Kennedy bio which she loved, so I might borrow it, so long as there's minimal JFK/MM in it.

Did you read the one by Suzanne Finstad? It's got some interesting stuff in it, but I think that book is total crap, starting with RJ being a homosexual. The Wagner family refused to talk to her about anything, and now she's writing one on Warren Beatty, and he refused to talk to her. She also wrote one on Priscilla Presley, with Priscilla's help, and then Priscilla ended up suing her and trying to keep the book from getting published because it trashed her and Elvis so badly.

This woman is full of BS. And her main source is Lana Wood, who has profitted off her sister's death time and time again. You should pick up the Natalie Wood bio by Gavin Lambert. The Wagners participated in that book, and RJ talks candidly about his and Natalie's problems. It's an interesting read. And then there's the tabloidish book I have on RJ and Natalie that's pure cheese but a lot of fun to read.

I've never been that interested in Marilyn Monroe. My big kick right now is JFK and Jackie.

I hate "Wuthering Heights". I started reading a lot of classic literature last year and I loved most of it, but this one just doesn't hold my attention. Parts of it I enjoy, I think my main problem is the point of view it's being told from.

I think I'm going to read an Elvis biography first and then Howard Hughes. "The Aviator" really peaked my interests in him, especially since he's from Houston.

I'm pretty sure it's the Suzanne Finstad book I'm trying to read now I haven't gotten very far, it's mostly about her mother so far and it's so badly written that I can't get much further with it. I'm gonna look up the Gavin Lambert one though, because I love reading about movie stars from the 'glamour' era of the 40's 50's and 60's. I've got a James Dean one that I'm planning to read this weekend during my 5 hour train ride to Edinburgh, although I've got a feeling it's probably going to be focusing on him being gay and Sal Mineo being gay and how they were probably having a raging affair during filming 'Rebel'

The Gavin Lambert book is REALLY good. My biggest complaint with both Natalie books is that they seem to gloss over what was considered the happiest time in Natalie's life - her second marriage to RJ. There's like two chapters dealing with their reconciliation and Courtney being born and then it skips right to her dying. Finstad villianizes Robert Wagner so badly...she really makes him seem evil. From the homosexuality aspect to the way he "controlled" Natalie to him seeming like a drunk to Finstad accusing him of murdering Natalie, it seems like she set out with a vendetta against him. Lambert's book paints a better picture, so the most amusing aspect when comparing the books is how different Wagner comes off.

The only good thing about Finstad's book is the pictures. The Lambert book has pictures, but they are really crappy in quality. I'd definitely get the Lambert book if you want a good bio. But I don't think the "definitive" bio of Natalie has been written yet.

I love classic novels. Wuthering Heights is a fav. Also love Emma and Pride and Predjudice cause Jane Austen is awesome. And I recommend Anna Karenina. Biographies are great too. I love all the ones about the old time actors. I read one on James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando, and Katherine Hepburn.

I'm changing the subject again, but does anyone watch Queer as Folk? I just found the most gorgeous walllpaper of Gale Harold. The man seriously owns his sexuality in a way that I've never seen before.

I liked Brian/Justin in the beginning but as the series progressed I loved Brian/Michael. I don't like Justin when he's with Brian. He's a much more interesting person when he's on his own.

I'm once again changing the subject, but I think I'm going to join a sorority. I've always lived off campus and I've had difficulty forming strong friendships. Has anyone ever been in one?
