That's so awesome that there was a poster for "Supercross" up. I seriously am so excited about seeing Sophia on the big screen.

I saw Mr. & Mrs. Smith again. It's amazing how much stuff you miss the first time around.

I loved Mr & Mrs Smith. "We'll talk about it ... later" That line cracks me up

I wonder if Supercross will come out here ... not many un-blockbuster types come out here

Well, to change the subject, this has been the worst day of my life.

This morning, I was rushing out of the house to go to church. I had let our 6 month old chihuhua out to go to the bathroom (she's bigger than a regular chi so the vet said she was fine to go to the bathroom outside) earlier, and I forgot to bring her back in before I left. I thought she was up by the house, but it turns out that she had chased me down the driveway. Suddenly, I heard a thunk and wails coming from under my car, and my heart just totally dropped. I pulled forward and saw her laying on the ground. She was screaming and then she started jumping around and crying. I totally freaked out and started screaming and hypreventilating. She was having a lot of pain in her lower body so I picked her up by the front and hauled ass into the house. We found an emergency vet open and rushed her to it.

The vet told us that her gums were almost white, which either meant she was in pain and in shock or she was bleeding out. I lost it...I've been crying and hysterical all day. Then the vet came back and said that her pelvis was fractured and that her bladder may be ruptured and that she could have nerve damage. The only good news was that her blood pressure was normal and that since she had peed on me on the way to the vet, her bladder just may not have been showing up on the X-ray. Also, the doctor had done some preliminary nerve tests and she had responded to pain on her legs. The only bad thing is the bladder deal because that's like 2000 dollars to fix. And since we're not rich, my mom and dad had no idea what we were going to do. The doctor said that she thought we might have to put her down, and I went crazy. We went back to visit her before we left, and I was like holding onto the cage, crying hysterically. Snuggles was just laying there...totally calm because of the pain medicine. It was horrible.

Well, my dad came home from work, and he said he was going to go to the vet and see her. He said if that she looked bad, he was going to have her put down anyway. So he went over there and said that he thought she looked okay. The nurse said that her gums are pink again, her oxygen levels are fine, that she's doing better and she's now more responsive to people. She has on a big green cast covering her leg, and we can take her home tomorrow. But she has to go to our regular vet again and get checked up on. We still don't know about her bladder because she hasn't had hardly anything to drink, so she hasn't had to go to the bathroom. If it turns out that her bladder is messed up, I think my parents are going to just go ahead and have the surgery done since she appears to be doing better.

I swear, my nerves are shot and my voice and eyes are hurting from crying so much. I feel so guilty even though it was an accident. She can never have puppies naturally (we'd have to do a c-section), she'll get arthritis when she turns 8 or 9, and she's going to have a limp from now on. She was just a normal puppy yesterday, and now I've messed her up. I still can't believe that I almost killed her. There's still more nerve tests to be done, but since she's responsive to pain, they think that part of her will be okay. I am just totally in shock. It was hard for me to even touch her earlier after knowing what I did to her. I still can't shake the guilt I'm feeling.

Aww, Robyn, I'm so sorry. I really, really hope that your dog is okay.

A few years ago, I took my dog, Dixie, outside to go to the bathroom. It was at night and she crossed the street into the neighbors yard. I was calling her to come back and I wasn't paying attention and there was a car coming. She came and the car hit her. She started screaming and I had to pick her up and carry her inside and then my dad called the vet at home and we had to take her in. She broke her hip, but they couldn't put a cast on it, so for almost a month she couldn't walk. She just had to lay on her side. She's better now and I'm sure you're puppy will be too.

Robyn

I am so sorry I hope your dog makes it through. I have one dog with a bad leg from a car accident and she does great with three legs. The bad leg is more like a cane for her. Hope your dog pulls through. I send you hugs and positive thoughts for her.

Aww Robyn I just had my dog put down about a month ago and I've had him for 11 years so that was really hard. I really hope you don't have to go through that

Thanks for all the well-wishes. They really mean a lot to me.

We picked her up from the emergency animal hospital yesterday morning, and the vet said that she did pee, so her bladder is not ruptured. If the break in her tail bone had been even a few centimeters higher, we would have had to put her to sleep because she would not have been able to use the bathroom. Every injury she has is best case scenario. The break in her leg occured in the best place possible. Everything really worked out for us. When we picked her up, she was doped up on pain meds so she was just sort of laying in the cage. We took her to our regular vet yesterday morning, and she has to stay there until Thursday. My brother and mom went to visit her yesterday, and she was licking my brother's face and is even up walking around. We seriously lucked out on everything. The vet says that she may not even have a limp now. And if everything heals correctly, she'll live a long, healthy life.

Thanks again for everything. I'll keep you guys posted. I just want to get her home so she can be home with the people she knows.
