Really Era? I didn't know that!

I don't think I did.

I know some religions don't celebrate Christmas, but never heard of Sinterklaas.

Sinterklaas actually existed thousands of years ago but children think he's still alive.
He's officially a roman catholic saint

There, I've taught something today!
You celebrate christmas that great way as in the movies Steph?

He does look like Santa.

Yep, like in the american movies.

One thing we do differently is Thanksgiving. In the USA it's a big holiday (almost like Christmas) with all the family, but where I live, it's not as big or we don't celebrate it at all (like in my family). It is also celebrated earlier than in the USA.

I love learning new things.

Yeah. Religion wasn't really allowed for about 50 years. But then the regime changed. And I was like 2 years old when it happened. So all my memories are related to celebrating Christmas

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here though

Christmas; this has become my favorite OT thread Nobody else is talking about Christmas yet! Thanksgiving is almost here, which I celebrate, but I don't care because I'm much more excited for Christmas. If you can't already tell.

I hate we're all in a different timezone It's almost noon here.
But by the time you start posting, I'm fast asleep

Christmas tree? After Sinterklaas No that's too early here. November is a nono.
Usually after the 10th.

Usually Christmas tree and all the decorations are up in the first days of December.

We celebrate Independence Day end of November so until then we just focus on that

I still need to find the right gifts
