If it wasn't true it would have been confirmed by now. Derek more or less confirmed it on Twitter. It's all over the Internet on reliable sites so I don't think it's speculation. I do think it's weird that she nor NBC commented. It doesn't feel like a normal exit from a show - it feels like something went down last minute hence she's not returning.

For what it's worth people who attended her meet and greet in Paris say that she made it obvious she was leaving bc she hinted at it. She made it somewhat clear she had been unhappy for a while and needed a fresh start at home with her friends and family. It sucks, but she made the decision she thought was the best for her.
