The smallest recap I will type up ... here we go.
The main takeaway I always take from this episode that this is truly in Nathan's mind and not a real alternative universe episode because even in the alternative, this wouldn't happen like this. I probably would've said things would've happened like this if they had Deb working somewhere else. lol Deb becomes Karen in this universe even with a Deb's Cafe? STOP IT.
Brooke/Nathan scenes were great. lol
Great ending scene... love Nathan telling Haley to not come back.

That's it...

Still doesn't explain some of the weird characterization in this episode, lol

Kinda wished I skipped most of this episode, haha

Think you missed 2x19 though, lol

2x19

I loved this episode, and of course one of my favorite highlights was seeing James's brother... they looked so much alike. lol The introduction of Uncle Coop! Loved that as well Also the Daytona woman was also amazing! I just loved how fun she is!

I just loved everything about the race track and Nathan having a reality check of how far he has fallen. Thinking about Haley hasn't done him any good to be quite honest. I loved Nathan telling Haley to not come and stay where she was, however...

Whenever I see Deb in this episode I think of the season finale (which I didn't rewatch yet) because she has the same color shirt from my memory. lol And when she told Dan how she wanted to kill him... sort of makes sense why she'd be the one to burn him alive. She just had it with him in general.

Brooke scenes of this episode I loved so much! I remember talking about this episode! Probably it was on the Brooke/Mouth thread. lol The scenes with Brooke just picking up friends and helping was wondering and her growth is everything.

I liked the Erica and Mouth scenes as well. Nice chemistry between them.

The Dan vs Andy stuff was perfectly done in this episode...
Also, I LOVEEEEE Karen/Andy.... however I won't ever agree with a teacher dating their student because I feel it's an unfair advantage. I believe Karen is smart and she would've gotten great grades regardless of what was going on however I don't feel a person can be completely objective when it comes to someone they are dating.
Dan played the game dirty but it's not like he was that wrong with everything he was saying.
But I love the rival between Dan and Andy and how ANdy choose Karen over his job. It's sweet however sad with knowing they don't really last until they reunite of course... I just love how much he loves Karen but Karen just so much about Kieth at this moment. By this point, I feel Karen is in love with Kieth more than she probably realizes even if she loves Andy.

The scene with the woman: Brooke, Peyton, Deb and Karen was EVERYTHING! I loved it and of course the best moment of all of them saying who they missed and Brooke saying she didn't miss Felix at all. That was hilarious as heck. lol

The main thing that upset me about this episode is that I know we won't see Daytona and Jarrett again. They were such awesome side characters! I loved the Lafferty brothers talking about hip hop since we knew in real life that James Lafferty loved his Hip Hop music. So all of that was tied to his real life likes. Happy we got Uncle Coop again even if we needed a lot more of him.

That's about all I remember about this episode. lol

It was weird which is why I said this is clearly just something in Nathan's mind... also I didn't watch this full episode since I never truly cared for it. I only watched the first like 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes and I was done. I remember everything about this episode.

Loved seeing Stuart as well, lol

Don't think I like it as much as you do, haha

She really is

Brooke was awesome in this episode

Yeah, Dan wasn't really in the wrong there

Such a great scene

Would have been nice to see Daytona again at least. Always liked Uncle Cooper though

OTH 2.21 Thoughts

Nice little recap there

Nathan sure does have a a lot of bills. Shouldn't have glossed over Nathan trying to kill himself though

Still hate the Lucas playing detective arc, it's so ****ing dumb

We actually got a LP scene I do wish we saw Peyton apologise to Lucas since she was at fault for them not being friends too.

Tim

Guess Dan paid Nathan's bills

I don't think Dan is exactly wrong about NH's marriage tbh

The show really miss an opportunity to not make BL friends this season without any romantic feelings

Looks like Nathan knows the truth about Lucas and Dan

Brooke That was a nice scene between BP, but Peyton being so fine with BL doesn't make a lot of sense regardless of her and Jake.

Forgot that Haley appeared in this episode, lol. That guy is kinda a dick though

I do like Lucas and Andy having scenes, but it sucks their scenes aren't about a dumb arc

God I love Tim

Liked that scene between NP, their friendship has always been pretty great

Love that we got to see Junk and Fergie in this season, wondering why we didn't see Skills though.

Nice to see Nathan smiling, lol

Of course Tim spent money on porn

NP complaining about Brooke and Lucas was great, lol

Nice to see Karen there

Loved that LP scene and you could easily tell that Brooke was never going to be fully comfortable with their friendship.

Loving all of the NP scenes we got in this episode

Guess Nathan found out that Dan paid his bills, and man Dan is actually convincing there lol

Think Karen is starting to slowly realise her feelings for Keith

Still think that guy is a dick, lol

Glad that Nathan and Deb are on good terms again

Of course Dan went to see Haley and when did Nathan sign that?

Nathan really can't believe that, lol. Not to mention I don't see why he thinks Lucas should back off

Don't think Peyton truly gave her heart to Jake as much as she thinks tbh.

Guess Brooke found his Peyton box

Lucas found out about Dan's college fund and I really wish Lucas didn't choose to break his promise.

Poor Haley

Would be easier to feel for Lucas there had the show actually bothered to build his feelings for Brooke.

Great episode, actually really enjoyed it.

OTH 2.22 Thoughts

Still don't buy Peyton being in love with Jake, lol

Gotta I love Bloc Party, Silent Alarm especially is a classic.

Do love all of their quotes to start this episode off

Peyton getting Jimmy Eat World is a bit unrealistic, lol

Nathan is already back to trying back to basketball, but I'm not really sure why he was being a bit of dick to Lucas in that scene

Glad that Lucas is going to see Haley

Poor Andy Of course Dan is trying to get him deported

Love seeing Karen being pissed

Poor Peyton, I really wish she wasn't getting dragged into Jake/Nikki's mess. The show missed a big opportunity of not making focusing enough on her issues this season.

Whitey! God I've missed him, really glad to see him. He is always been great to getting advice

'You not punching me' Dan Ouch, lying to Nathan is an extremely low blow

Despite how ridiculous it is, I love seeing Jimmy Eat World on the show.

Not sure where Lucas got that car from, lol

'Wish I was in her life more'

Man, Lucas was pissed at seeing Chris/Haley like that

Glad to we got to see Lucas/Haley on screen again

She can't exactly move to NZ Andy regardless of Keith, lol

God, Lucas hates Chris and I love it, lol

Mouth and Erica are kinda cute

Nice to see Peyton happy, regardless of what I think about JP

Man, Nikki is evil lol

Nice to see Lucas and Haley having scenes again, this season has really sucked for them

Such an iconic line

Chris I did like that scene though, did love it when the show had Keller act more a bit seriously (especially since Tyler always sold it)

Love seeing Andy like this, lol. Man, that poor window hahah

Man, I loved that LH scene

Really loving all of the music in this episode

Brooke is really buying a lot of clothes, lol

Haley's actions are really all over the place, lol. Mark seriously wanted that door cliffhanger and doesn't really care how he will get it, which leads to Haley especially

Timeline is a bit confusing in this episode

That's really pathetic Peyton Love how when she acts that way with Lucas it's pathetic, but when it's with Jake it's romantic. The double standard will always piss me off

Just don't feel anything in JP's last scenes and that Jake's line doesn't really work for me considering what we got on screen with their relationship.

Pissed off the show wasted Hear Me Now on JP and BL, lol

Really going to miss Andy Man, he was easily one of the best additions throughout the show's history imo. Sucks we didn't get to see him again until Season 5

Guess, Nathan is back lol

All of the core's quotes at the end of episode were pretty great

Man, I am just happy that Jake and Peyton will be off my screen lol

OTH 2.23 Thoughts

Definitely agree with you Brooke, you and Lucas are so much better off without friends

Nice to meet Ellie for the first time, they certainly nailed the casting that's for sure.

Just happy that this storyline will be over with in this episode, since it's one of Lucas' worst throughout the show and that's saying something.

Glad to see that Deb and Nathan back on good terms, but she doesn't look happy about Nathan moving back in.

Still bitter about how much Jake's return has dragged down's Peyton storyline this season

Really wish the Peyton box came up between LP

Would have been nice if Brooke actually meant that

Hating Peyton's hair this season too, lol

I'm really enjoying Peyton and Ellie scenes way more than Jake and Peyton's already

Swear I saw Mouth or someone in the background for a second, lol

Deb is really pissed, nice foreshadowing there lol

Lucas has fallen right into Dan's trap

Even I have to say that scene was hot, lol

Lucas

Glad Lucas convinced Karen to go to NZ without him

Peyton surely looks devastated, lol

Guess Peyton found out the truth about Ellie

Would like Lucas trying to help Deb more if it didn't involve him lying to Nathan

Love it when Deb is like that, lol

Man Dan is pissed, hahah

Always forget that Psycho Derek was hinted at this time

Really missed having Dan and Whitey having scenes, lol

Be Yourself is such a great song

I do get why Nathan is pissed at Lucas for Dan, but not for visiting Haley

Still think Lucas is too smart to fall for Dan's plan, but I don't get why Dan was so hurt that Lucas didn't suddenly look past after 16 years of abandonment.

Brooke and Peyton were one of the few highlights of S2

Cutting out over your brother over that is pretty extereme imo, even though I get being pissed at him.

Couldn't have picked the worst time to tell Brooke how you felt Lucas and it was honestly pretty selfish imo. You don't keep Peyton things to remind yourself of Brooke and it's actually sad that some of the fandom believe that.

Guess Peyton has found out the truth about Ellie being her real mum

Looking back on it, Deb is clearly the most believeable option to have started the fire.

Would have been nice to have seen the show explain Haley's sudden reversal in her views on Nathan and the tour

Didn't really enjoy that episode, got annoyed too much at certain things lol

I think that was the main point... Naley would have been together romantically no matter the scenario because they were meant to be.
That was definitely the point

Yes, I clearly love Lucas/Peyton. lol
Same here, loved that scene but I do wish we saw Peyton apologize to Lucas though they were both to blame for their friendship going off track a bit.

I know

Loved that scene

Notice though how Monster incorporates the scene between Lucas/Peyton hugging and Brooke looking at them with frustration and jealousy. That is so deliberate. Mark is already giving away what we know to be true. Still, he's spelling it out, big time. He's letting us know that for now, Peyton is mourning the situation with Jake so he's going with Lucas/Brooke for a short time until things get sorted out. However, as we see based on Brooke alone given her response to Lucas and Peyton... the story will always be Lucas/Peyton and it's coming back to them no matter what.
Me neither, the show wasted a huge opportunity of not making them close friends after S1 since this season and S5/6 show they were so much better as friends.

Yep, the signs were there even at this point.

She knows she cannot fight this, not even slightly can she fight the destiny and meant to be tag that is Lucas/Peyton. She absolutely gets it. Monster does a good job of showing he already has Lucas/Peyton endgame in this episode, alone. Seriously, the writing's on the wall. It's very clear.
Agreed, but she doesn't want to admit it to herself either.

Agreed, it's a extremely obvious in this episode that Lucas brings out the worst in her when romance is on the table.

Chris was definitely right there, always loved it when the writers had him show his serious side (especially since Tyler always knocked those moments out of the ballpark

Same here, it's personally the last thing she needs to be involved at this point either

I love the Nathan and Peyton goofing around. You can tell Nathan will always have a soft spot in his heart for Peyton.

The Lucas/Brooke stuff is so damn annoying. Get off my screen, please.

So scary that Peyton's receiving those weird chat messages. Reminds you of how dangerous the Internet can be.

I can't believe Dan actually made fun of Whitey's eye situation while blinking repeatedly in front of him. What a despicable prick.

I also can't believe Karen wants to go chase Andy. Keith could come back at any moment and she'll be gone. Plus, how can she leave Lucas? I just find this storyline stupid.

It was quite a twist when Dan set Lucas up to test his loyalty. I never saw it coming.

Forced drama between Nathan and Lucas at the end was disappointing. Why didn't Lucas tell Nathan he went to see Haley? Lucas and Haley are best friends. He has a right to see her whenever he wants to. Lucas should have told him. Lucas lying about being done with Dan was wrong, though.

I also don't understand why Dan needed to pay for Lucas' heart medicine. Doesn't Lucas have health insurance with his mom? Yes, he wants his mom to stay out of the situation (which, again, is a lame decision Lucas made) but his insurance should cover most of the medicine to the point of him only having to cough up like 5-20 bucks a script, or something like that.

The last Lucas/Brooke scene was ridiculous. I laughed and rolled my eyes the entire time. Seeing Brooke crying while leaving for the airport made me laugh even harder. This entire storyline is irritating.

I remember being shocked when Ellie revealed herself as Peyton's mother at the end of the episode. Peyton has had one hell of a year.

Ah, the fire and Dan being drugged.

I also loved seeing Haley at Nathan's doorstep with her sad, romantic hi to him. Awe. Thank God she's back.

The Peyton/Lucas beach scene was... Notice how the last scene (minus the quick flash to the fire) is owned by Lucas/Peyton, Mark's endgame pairing. Coincidence? Not a chance.

Season 1 versus Season 2

No comparison. Season 1 is loads better. Man, season 2 is dark and depressing for the most part. Naley, goes without saying why that situation sucks. Peyton is depressed and upset for a large portion of the season, then gets temporary happiness for a bit followed by more sadness. Lucas and Brooke, big mistake. We get it, Chad and Sophia were together in real life during this time period but that's no reason to get Lucas and Brooke back together when it's more than obvious Lucas/Peyton are endgame. Network demanded something that insulted the storyline we have seen so far, upset Leyton fans and gave Brucas fans false hope. Not good. I like Andy overall, but he got a bit on my nerves. Keith, I mean, what a sad season for him. Lucas and his weird situation with Dan was strange. Hardly any basketball took place in this season either which sucks as someone who tuned into this show for the basketball storyline.

The three things that stick out to me in season 2 that I liked was the Lucas/Nathan bonding (up until the season finale and that forced drama) and a couple great moments for Peyton/Brooke. The Anna sexuality storyline was good. I just keep thinking about many teens watching who are confused about their sexuality and I really think this storyline did a nice job overall. Could have added more layers and depth but overall it was great.

Loved the NP we got in this episode

Completely agree with what you said about Brooke and Lucas

It seriously is

It's Dan, he can do a lot worse

Yeah, I hated the Lucas/Nathan stuff in this episode because how forced it is. Separating them was pretty pointless as well since the show barely focused on it in Season 3 as well

Think Dan pays for it because Lucas doesn't want Karen to know he has HCM

She really did

Same, but I hate how out of nowhere it was considering the last episode

Glad the season ended with LP as well

Season 1 was so much better, it's not even up for debate imo.

I enjoyed this episode.
The Brooke and Lucas stuff was interesting. Brooke seemed ready to move to the romantic element with Lucas again but seeing those pictures of Peyton and Lucas brought her back to the bad that happened with Lucas and the pain she went through when they were together in the past so clearly she doesn't want to get herself hurt like that again. I felt that was perfectly done.

I enjoyed the Lucas/Peyton scene in this episode. Lucas saying he wasn't the best friend so she was right to call him out on it earlier in the season. It was nice to see them revisit this.

This was probably the true start of my full love for Nathan Scott! He wasn't just all about Haley and he had the edge to his personality that just wasn't lovey dovey and I believe this will continue to season 3 (my favorite overall season for Nathan) ... I loved that he agreed with Dan (eventually) about breaking his marriage to Haley because the marriage truly wasn't really one. They kept secrets from one another and didn't really make decisions as a married couple.

Also Tim wanting to have a car wash?
He just doesn't know about sensitivity of a situation.
My Brathan interaction.! Yep... they totally had sex like 2 years before this. I loved how awkward Nathan felt around Brooke and her telling him that everyone has that dream about her and how Tim begun the mentally have the dream in his head.

My favorite scene of the episode might be a shocker! It's the scene of Nathan and phone convo Deb! Because I can love Nathan but call him out for being a terrible son to Deb this whole season right from the beginning just because she didn't approve to his marriage like Haley parents to Haley. Nathan ought of be ashamed of himself for how far he pushed his mother over some woman who left on tour with another man...

Can I say that I loved that Nathan didn't fall for Dan's crying lookaway speech. lol I was watching that scene like... WTF. lol Happy Nathan gave Dan a round of applause for that performance. lol

Haley... I just don't really care. lol By this point I was okay if she never returned full time. I was just ready for Nathan to move forward and I guess if Haley came back, she joins another clique and just has her friendship with Lucas.

2x22

Karen/Dan kiss is in this episode ... I loved that whole scene! the intensity and Karen throwing the chair at his glass window. Everytime I watch that scene I think about the campaign ad that Dan makes for Karen in season 3. lol

Peyton and Jake scenes were everything. Them saying their love for one another and Jake keeping Peyton updated with everything.
Also Nikki lied in her testiminial.
Aww Peyton and Jake would've been happily back together if Bryan didn't go over to October Road. What could've been after this episode....

The Jake/Peyton romance.
I loved that Jake wasn't allowing Peyton to go with him on the run and asked her to move on and forget about him.
Just because he wasn't going to be in school and put his life on hold didn't mean that he wanted Peyton to do the same thing. He loved her that much to set her free...
The MAIN beautiful love story of Tree Hill for me.
"I could've held you in my arms forever and it still wouldn't have been long enough."

I'll always hold on to the memories of the best most mature relationship that OTH has ever written.

I enjoyed the scene with Whitey and Nathan and we even see how much their relationship as couch and basketball player grown.
I remember when Nathan disapproved and went against what Whitey asked of him and now he takes his advice.

Again Dan is one of the most fascinating characters because you never know if he's telling the truth or lying or being sincere. lol Too much. lol

The performances from Jimmy Eat World were great.

Brooke/Lucas relationship is so special to me this season. I love their chemistry and friendship and just everything!
I loved Lucas making it clear in advance that in New York he'll spend most of his time with Haley.

Lucas/Haley still remains my favorite! Just a special friendship...
Of course Brooke and Lucas walks in on Haley and Chris having too much of a good time... lol

Haley looked much more happier to see Lucas then she did to see Nathan. LH friendship >>>>>>>>> NH romance.
It was just so strange though to see Haley in this whole different light ... a celebrity mixed in to who she truly was... that's why she needed to be with Lucas again to sort of remind her of what she was before the fame.

I love you Andy but no way was Karen going to leave with you. I love their relationship but at this moment it was clearly not going to be long term... especially with Karen slowly realizing her feelings for Kieth... I like the Andy noticed it as well.

I love Nathan and Peyton scenes. ANd Peyton being sorry for being happy. But I loved Nathan for being supportive and saying sometimes they come back.
Of course that's when things take a wrong turn.
Niiki the irresponsible parent has Jenny and takes her.
The main person I felt bad for during this was Jenny... she gotta be with a terrible mother alone... the parent who could've been the reason for a very young death because of her carelessness.

Brooke/Chris reaction was whatever... I just didn't care for it. I was one of them who never really saw the chemistry or anything.
I see it more with Haley/Chris.

I did love the scenes between Chris and Lucas as well! When Chris explained how much he's talked to Haley these past months...

New York City is the best place to shop so wise decision from Brooke.
Love Tutor Girl, Haley pulling an all nighter for her Finals... she still got that smarts there.
All the Lucas/Haley stuff was perfect.
I liked that although he was so sad over her not returning to Tree Hill, he tried to be supportive and told her that she'll always be his best friend.

I liked that even though Karen/Andy and Jake/Peyton broke up, it wasn't bad blood breakups or like a cheating break up so I still can continue loving both pairings as much as I loved them throughout the season.

Interesting scene between Nathan and Lucas in the end as well. Lucas didn't tell Nathan he went to see Haley and Nathan doesn't seem to feel much pain anymore. He's learning how to push through the pain now...

2x23
Love the Brooke and Peyton scene!
I love that Brooke confronted Peyton about Lucas possible feelings for her still.
Also, I liked that Peyton go to confide in her about Jake and how she didn't want to hug because it would break her again... yep... those hugs do that. Understandable.

Brooke is also correct about how insecure she is when she's with Lucas which is why team friendship works the best.
Lucas is actually the only person she's been with when she's that insecure and it's probably based on what already happened....

Karen seeing Kieth... she truly misses him so much.

Peyton/Ellie scenes interesting...
Ellie making a cover about who she truly is to get to learn more information about Peyton first.
Ellie already knew Peyton so well when she saw her at the Karen's Cafe.

Nathan and Deb. So great to see them on good terms again. The way she got treated this season was pretty difficult to watch... just happy Nathan got his common sense back and started treating his mother with respect.

I like that Deb assured to Nathan that she wants to be a family but not with Dan being involved. Dan has really pushed her through the ringer.

"Your father can burn in hell for all I care."

There goes that foreshadowing again....

That was one sexy cold dream from Lucas about he and Brooke.

I like that Lucas is supportive to Karen going to New Zealand. He can take care of himself.:

YES! My scene of Nathan, Peyton and Brooke. This was so awesome.
That throwback special to Nathan/Peyton with the photo. Their relationship is so much better now.
"With kind of married guys." lol

Peyton was awesome for post poning her interview into after Brooke leaves town for the Summer! Great friendship move.
That small B/N moment of them looking at his game was EVERYTHING! Let's get more B/N scenes.

Peyton now is wondering who the heck Ellie is since the publisher doesn't know about her...
Also she has a stalker so she believes Ellie is the stalker.

The Deb and Dan scenes. Wow!
Dan told her that the bastard would've been Nathan if he didn't marry her... just wow... Dang.

"Your playing with fire and you're about to be burned."
Another foreshadowing. lol

"Be Yourself"
By Audioslave

Love the song so much!

This complicated season for Lucas and Dan ends for them in bad terms... Dan no longer trusts Lucas and he doesn't want to give him his medicine or any future fund...
Lucas also happy he gets to finally cut Dan out of his life for good.

"Hoes over bros"
"Buds over studs"

I loved it!

I wish Nathan didn't cut off their brother relationship... urg! Come on Nathan you are going too far in the non forgiveness there.

I loved the Brooke and Lucas scene so much.
Goodbye lead to a kiss and a declaration of Lucas feelings for Brooke.
I loved his explanation for why he had the Peyton stuff... man that was a heck of a good scene and Brooke totally didn't see it coming. That was a great scene. I love that Brooke still left... that was a lot to take in right there....

Lucas had one difficult season finale! Finally cut off from Dad, no longer have a brother/friend... Brooke still leaves after his declaration. At least he has Peyton over the Summer.

The last scene with the music "Lavinia" - The Veils is my favorite season finale closing music/monotage with season 3 ending! Incredible.
Oh look at that Peyton and Ellie scenes... shades of Physcho Derek beginnings....

That was a great ending of her telling her that she's her mother. That's why she wanted to know so much about her.

I was as upset as Deb when Haley returned. I was ready for Deb and Nathan to leave and be reunited once and for all.

Second season finale of Dan's life on the line. So every season finale we can expect something like this from Dan? lol

When I first saw this I had no clue who did this nor did I have much speculation but I just knew for sure that it wasn't Lucas, Nathan, Karen or Kieth.

I think probably I thought it could've possibly been Andy....
I didn't think it was Deb because of the editing of course... of me suppose to believe that Deb was at home when the fire was set. So yeah.

Great ending for one of my favorite seasons.

Same here, the LH scenes were the highlights of the season for me

Certainly was an interesting end of the season, that's for sure

It was, but I still think everyone would have been better off if the show left that aspect of their relationship behind like the writers clearly planned too.

It was, but I wish Peyton apologized as well since she wasn't been a great friend to him either.

The next season and a bit is the best time on the show for Nathan personality wise,

She kinda did, lol
Things are much better between LH compared to NH though

It really was I do wish the writers showed her doubts considering the cliffhanger for next episode.

Don't think that was Nathan's business tbh, especially since LH are childhood friends.

Still annoyed at the wasted potential of their relationship, since I thought this whole arc for Lucas was ****ing awful and was barely any better than being suddenly in love with someone who couldn't have cared less about a few weeks before, which is pretty sad since latter was arguable one of the biggest mistakes (if the not biggest) the show made with his character.

Yep, looking forward to this arc since it's clearly her best individual arc; especially since all of her arcs this season were pretty bad imo.

For me, the only believable options were Deb and Keith.

^ Without replying to everything on your post I'll keep this nice and sweet. I believe Lucas meant every word he said to Brooke in this episode. Even if you don't like how rushed it appeared to be so... I'll be you whenever we get to season 4 with how rush L/P is so... to each there own. lol

I believe during this finale he did want to work things out with Brooke and he did truly love her again and it was "Peyton Who?" I felt the romantic feelings for Peyton just wasn't there anymore.

He didn't, lol

There's no way he honestly believed he kept that box for Brooke, he was clearly just something to make feel better despite not actually truly believing it. It's a sign of things to come, lol

Lucas never truly loved Brooke or vice versa.
