It is sad because the first few episodes of season 1, Lucas was my favorite.. and I still feel that way when I re-watch and just waiting for how his character will slowly become pretty upsetting.

Peyton remained consistent.

Brooke becomes more likable later on as well.

I agree. I didn't like Brooke in the beginning but I grew to like her a lot.

Yep and with Lucas it was opposite.
Lucas started out as my #1 character and then it went downhill... rewatching early season 1 makes me feel a bit sad for what they did to his character... since I do remember loving him so much.

I've loved Brooke since I first saw her.

I've always been pretty meh on Peyton but I do like her most of the time.

Peyton I liked better until the whole Peyton/Lucas relationship and then that's when I started loving Brooke more.

That's the complicated one for me because I still think I would had wanted to see the Brooke/Nathan thing even more if that happened...
And yes Naley would've been a little bit more likable because it would've went at a slower pace and we would've saw that good Nathan around Haley and I would've actually cared more about it.
