I am here, honest! I've been at a music festival both days this weekend, although I came home last night and went again this morning, so I did pop online to check the board

I had to have a four hour nap when I got in from work today. It killed me! Its a bank holiday, and there was only four of us to clean the whole building because the majority of the people who work there had tickets for the music festival and were camping all weekend. I only had day tickets, so I didn't camp (plus it was so close to my house I wanted to stay in my bed! ). Eh. It almost killed me! I was very close to getting my Mum in to help out (she said she'd come, too!), but we finally managed to get hold of one of the receptionists who had a day off, and he came in to make beds

Well, it's the last day of Winter! But you wouldn't know it. We had a short burst of warmth over the past few days and wild winds and thunderstorms blew it away. Brrr!! The lights were out at this major intersection on my way home, and I heard the train lines were yesterday. I'm sure our ancient gum tree is about to crash down on the front section of the house sometime soon too. But so long as my electricity's okay here, I'm good. Now I just need to stop opening FF windows and get some work done. It's no easy feat with all these Delta appearances popping up though!

And yay for the last day of winter! Not that it's been too bad up here, though, I just returned from a little trip to Melbourne and last week it was cold compared to here, I had to buy another blanket! I shouldn't complain about the cold up here now.

Yep! Queenslanders never know winter till they have a taste of the chill down here. I went to Cairns in June and couldn't get over the humidity! It was fantastic to escape the cold if only for a week. Hope you still enjoyed your stay despite the climate shock!

Definitely a shock! It was freezing when we landed, though, it did get better! But it was a good holiday , it's been a long time since I've been down there, so it was nice to see the place again!

I know the feeling, Ellie. When I boarded my flight in Cairns it was a muggy 28C and I on arrival in Melbourne it was about 11C. Mum and Dad said we'd been through a cold snap while I was away, but boy! What a welcome home. Glad you enjoyed yourself. I love that there's so much to see and do here, despite the weather.

Melbourne weather is predictable in winter, but we're reknowned for our "four seasons in one day" through every other season.
