It being officially July 8 in Australia now, thought I'd take the opportunity to say how proud I am of and happy for Delta. She always carries herself with grace and class and even during those trying times where she was getting treatment, she never gave up. She stayed stong and continues to do something.

She's accomplished so much in her 24 years, she's just an inspiration to anyone who knows her.

It's been a pleasure to get to know her through her music and I know she's got a lot more in her.

Every year I wonder what Delta thinks when fans mark July 8th somehow?

I can't see it being a day she particularly wants to remember - but I guess it's like any anniversary really. Must be a strange feeling though.

Where ever she is, I just hope she is happy and healthy.

I never know what to say, so just thought I'd post my message from dgof on here too:

I cannot begin to imagine what Delta went through on that day, or over the whole period of her treatment and recovery. Or the emotions that memories of July 8th must bring.

Delta - you are an inspiration to so many, and whilst it's horrible to know what you went through, you fought with such dignity, and poise, and it is so beautiful to see your relationship and empathy with cancer patients, and the work you do to raise money, and awareness is amazing. As is how openly you talk about your experience.

To see how far you have come - for any 24 year is incredible, but from your world being turned upside down, to come out on top, so positive, and happy, is beyond that.

I am honoured to call myself a fan of yours Delta, and here's to all you have achieved, and will achieve, and to your health and happiness always.

I agree. It would probably dredge up a lot of bad memories, but I do think she would celebrate it in some way, even if it's just a few positive thoughts and hugs here or there, because that was a massive hurdle in her life that she overcame.

Aww I love those videos Kay! The first one was sad when she started to cry.
