Ya know, I reckon her team needs to do an overhaul for the digital market. What makes people wanna buy digital tracks? You can see she's done well in the physical sales, but no one's really motivated to buy digitally [in comparison]. She would do better if more people would buy digitally, but once you've got your actual cd who really needs that option?

[But like, people are buying Leona, the Veronicas etc from both mediums..] Maybe it comes down to song choice for releases..people seemed to eat up In This Life.

I think that has more to do with it than anything else, really. We were all pretty skeptical about Delta releasing BA as a single. Even though Delta obviously adores it, her fans love it (even those of us who were iffy about it first grew to really like it after repeated listens)...it might not be enough for the general public. We'll love it because it's from Delta, but it might be harder for someone else who isn't a massive fan to get into the song. (I hope that made sense, because it makes sense in my head, but it was hard to express it properly).

In This Life just was a really catchy song, and people in general (not just Delta's fans) seemed to respond better to it.

Gearing more toward the digital market might very much help Delta for the next time around, but as was already said, a huge factor comes down to the song itself.

No matter how they promote the song, people have to like it.

Glad it did Naomi. Exactly. If a song isn't catchy enough for the public to adore it, then regardless of how brilliant the video is or how much the artist values it...unfortunately, it's not enough for the single to do extremely well.

I'll be honest, BA wasn't my favourite in the beginning [look, it just can't compete with YWOBMH ] but I realllllly love it now, after a million listens. Semi/non fans aren't going to be that patient with it, so you're right Kay, it totally comes down to song choice. Oh well, guess charts like these don't mean much so long as the main body of work is doing well.

Very true. And the album itself has done really well and seems to still be doing well, so I suppose that's what matters more.

If they really wanted BA to succeed then they should've released it as a first single cause ITL was always going to do well no matter what, it's just one of those songs.

That's risky though. It could have flopped and no one would have taken Delta [the cd and her ] seriously. Well, okay, that's an exaggeration but it would have set an unusual tone for the record..a so-so debut from an amazing artist just seems like a waste for all.

Yeah that would've been risky. I think it was a good decision to release ITL first, best to start with a really catchy one imo!
