Ben/Monica Appreciation - "But you're his teacher, Ms. Young!"

Now doesn't every teenage-guy dream of that? A hot teacher? But - what if she really falls for him? Do you think this is appropriate?

Honestly it had that "eeww" factor to me in the beginning - because really, if it was a girl and a male teacher that'd be definitely "eeww" - so I'm a hypocrite, I guess for now admitting that they seem kind of cute together. Anyway, let's not discuss my flaws/quirks/etc. but the couple. Go on, guys!

They are the best couple on the show. The chemistry between them in amazing. I really see something special between them. Problems are bond to come up if they ever do get together offically. I loved the scene with them behind the tent. I posted the converstation on the quotes thread but I'm going to post it here as well.


Ben:"Hey"
Monica:" Oh...Ben you startled me"
Ben:"Oh. Because I thought you were smart enough not to get caught."
Monica:"Very clever"
Ben:"So I just wanted to let you know. That I haven't told anybody. About our little...flashing incident.
Monica:"No one? Not even your two buddies?"
Ben:"No. Nobody"

*She walks closer to him*

Monica:"I trust you. You know why? Because you brought it up to me. I didn't have to ask you.
Ben:" Well I, I just wanted to let you know. And I never would tell anybody. I'm pretty good at keeping secrets... And I like knowing things nobody else knows."
Monica:"That's good to know Ben Connor....that's good to know.

Ben:"So do I get any extra credit?"
Monica:" I should probably go back to my booth."

*She starts to walk away. He grabs her hand*

Ben:"Hey, hey, hey. Can't you stay? Just for a little while?"

*Lean in for the kiss, car pulls up before they kiss. She walks away back to her booth*

I liked these two. I really didn't want to because i don't think its right- but there's just something about them... the chemistry does work really well, you can't help but get pulled in. And Ben's such a sweetheart, he was my favorite

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean - it was the same for me, I thought: It's wrong, it's wrong, it's wrong!!! But then I couldn't help it.

At first I didn't think that their relationship was going to be possible. Even after the whole flashing incident.I thought it would just be Ben going after her in a way and she being his teacher after all couldn't or wouldn't. Then the car ride, and classroom she was sending out some signals. Then of course bend the tent. Well, you all know about that.

At first I was a little mad that she blew him off at the game. It was in a very public place though. The way she just came into the store and went along with everything was great. I thought that he might have some hell to pay for that one. Especially after she saw him with a bottle at the fair.

The car scenes were the best! He really connects with her on that higher level then he can get with girls his own age. I know she was surprised at the level of maturity that he has. Without that I doubt he would have stood a chance with her. When Dino called and he that song was playing was just priceless. The flirting between them is so beautiful. That kiss in the car was great. She made the first move. I thought that he was going to approach her and she would turn away. When he said that "They may be younger then you. But I don't think any of thing are prettier then you". He said it with such truth. She had to love that. As obvious by the kiss.

I was yelling way to go Ben! When he turned that girl down at the party. Also when he didn't tell his friends even after they revealed big issues. That's my boy!

It seems as if just about every drama has this storyline of a teacher/student relationship. Whether he is in high school or college. I like her myself and I agree about every teenage guy's fantasy is to have a hot teacher interested in him.

from reading the book... i dont think Monica M will be on the show for too long. maybe for one season but dats it. unless the writers spin the story a bit to make her stay a lot longer.... then again we dont even know if "life as we know it" will be on for one season, or do we?

I don't know they might just keep her around, having Ben go through that relationship and then maybe having it end badly.

It would be interesting to see how they interact with each other after sleeping together. But I doubt she would affect his grade for what happened between them but I could be wrong.

But they have changed the show a lot from the book. Like there is no girl name Sue in the book. Or the fact that Ben's teacher/lover is the English teacher on the show and not the darma teacher like she was in the book.

In my opinion, what sets Ben & Monica apart from being too cliche' is that he genuinely seems to care about her. Yes, sex (the possibility of it) is definitely a factor, but he also LIKES being around her.

The scene they had in the basement was really sweet. They can laugh at each other (she lives with her mom). I really liked the part where he told her he wasn't going anywhere...

I'm really interested to see what happens between them when there's conflict. Ben with a broken heart...

totally-I think this is his first love-she is beautiful too-that's for sure. How ironic was it that his mom and her were in the drug store at the same time-thought that was cool they did that. So what's next for them?
