I haven't posted in a while but after last night's episode I just had to. Every episode of Jack and Bobby just amazes me, but this episode was just...wow. I always had mixed feelings with Missy, sometimes I liked her and at times I didn't, but I actually cried a little when she died. It was so sad how Jack was trying to give her CPR and then the realization that she was dead, the look on his and Marcus's face, it was just so sad. And I was also spoiled for this episode but it still managed to surprise and amaze me. The acting is fantastic on this show, the WB would be bafoons if they cancel this show.

I also couldn't believe what Bobby did to Grace. I understand why he did it, but I wish he would have found another way other than humiliating his mother infront of everybody. But I love that the writers are showing their relationship progress, the son starting to grow up and move one, while the mother doesn't want to let go. I loved their last scene when they went to see the Declaration of Independence.

Future Bobby's son was really cute, and I loved how his story about his brother dying fit into Jack's storyline now. The whole epsiode was just sad, especially when Bobby's son started to cry at the end.

Loved the funny parts though with all the guys asking the girls to the dance in the most creative ways. Katie with the bunny outfit was hilarious. I love her.

As for Missy I knew she was dying and I never cared much for her but still I find it very interesting that on a political show like J&B the girl that gets an abortion, gets killed the next episode. Some people will say karma but me I just think it is pushing ideas too far. Why not Randy, a jerk clearly??????? Why not nobody??? No it had to be Missy.
I thought about that too. It came across as a sort of punishment for her actions.

I loved last night's episode and I really hope this show gets picked up for another season.

I have to say that Bobby's speech with his classmates to his mother shocked me. It seemed extreme to me, but Grace handled it far better than I ever would.

Missy was just trying to get her life back on track and it was hard but yet she ends up dying ... I really view that as abortion is bad. Karma will come back and bite you big time if you do that... I sometimes feel strongly about the values that they show on J&B. Not only am I mad that Missy died after what happened to her but I also cannot believe what Bobby did to his mom. Seriously, how many people in here would walk away free like Bobby did if we had said and done the things he did??? My mom would have me back on the train with her for sure...

It's been a while since I post in this thread, but after last episode I just want to comment on it. Why did Missy had to die? She was for me the most interesting character after Jack, and I think the show will be lacking without her. What was the purpose? I hope they are going somewhere with this, and they didn't kill her just for shock or to punish her because she had an abortion.

About Bobby: Yes, it was bratty. Yes, he humiliated Grace. But how many times have w seen her totally disregard his feelings and embarass him? I am so glad he finally got the balls to call her out and stand up to her. Jack has always been overly sensitive and positively mean to Grace but this was the first time weve seen Bobby REALLY stand up to her and I cheered him on.

Missy dying didn't really make me cry or make me too sad. I think I was too mad at her for breaking up Jack and Katie. I think the point about her death coming on the heels of her abortion is valid. This show does ride the fence a lot politically and I think her death may have been to appease the abortion.

What I thought was really interesting was when she said, "I knew you'd be here with her and I wanted to make you jealous". You can assume that she was referring to Katie but I think Missy was also referencing Courtney. I think that night Missy realized that she was not just second in Jack's life but third.

About Jack II: I personally was hoping for a better looking son from Bobby and Courtney but maybe it's just me. Looks aside, he played the part perfectly.

Oh and I don't think Marcus was really drunk. I blame the accident mostly on the deer. Even if he wasn't drunk a deer in front of the car, coupled with everyone being distracted would've have caused that accident. And did anyone else have flashbacks to "I Know What You Did Last Summer"? It was like they used the exact same lines and even the same highway.

Bobby is such a brat. Grace is quite possibly deserving of some secular form of sainthood. Katie rocks my little world and Keri Lynn Pratt should really be in the running for an Emmy nomination this fall.

But the talking heads have GOT to go.

I thought last nights show was almost perfect. It makes me wonder why the WB hasnt done more for the show. I was very upset about what bobby did to his mom. I said to my dad "I would have kicked my sons ass to the moon" I thought that Missy last speech was alittle to dramatic but it was her farwell speech. I hope that Jack will fix things with Katie before the show ends......

I definitely flashed back to "I Know What You Did Last Summer" when I saw this. I really can't deal with all these deer encounters, I say a wildlife program should be developed to teach them how to cross the road. I was so shocked at how the truck went over the embankment. Then when they showed how the tree trunk fell on it too! It's good that they all didn't die. Yikes.

The way they shot that scene was intersting too because I think they showed the three in the cab, and then the overhed shot of the empty bed, which was really chilling. Missy got thrown really far and I was actually scared that moving her would make things worse. Plus, giving her CPR when you don't know that her neck isn't already injured was just not logical, but I probably would freak out and do whatever I could to get her breathing again too. The kids did a great job expressing the sheer terror that this situation would stir up. I did have a problem in the beginning when Courtney delivered the line about thinking her friend was dead...like she didn't sound panicked enough. I don't know, that just bugged me.

It is really great to see so many new posters commenting.

New posters and old posters back. I'm happy this episode has brought a lot of discussion.

I don't think that Missy was killed because of her choice to get an abortion. Killing Missy was almost the only option they had. We know that Jack, Marcus, and Courtney are alive in the future.. Jack at least for sometime. Killing Randy, or even Katie would not have made that much of an impact. They have only been around for a short time and haven't connected with all of the characters. Missy on the other had has been there since about the begining I believe and she has weighed in with almost every main character on the show. Her death added the shock and emotional impact that the death of other character's just wouldn't have caused.

As for Bobby talking to Grace.. He shouldn't have done it that way but he is a teenager and his reputation was in trouble as always. Grace has forced her ways onto Bobby in the past and only recently has he went against her. She has been trying to be more in his life but really only on her ways with her terms. Bobby's rebellion was not just about the night to me but about pointing out to Grace that he wants her to be in his life more but on his terms, not her's. Besides, like Jack, Bobby is Grace's son. With her backbone, his was bound to come out very strong..maybe even too strong.
