Peter Benedict/John Slattery Appreciation Thread #1

I haven't seen such a thread... but if I missed it, please close this one

John Slattery know from TV shows like Sex and the city, Ed, Will&Grace and Judying Amy or mivies like Dirty Dancing II, Traffic and Mona Lisa's Smile is doing an awsome job as Peter Benedict on WB Jack&Bobby.

I really like Peter Benedict. Especially his relationship with Grace&Bobby. Hope to get more of it soon

But one question... Where is Peter? I haven't seen him in the last two eppys... did I miss something?

Hope u have fun over here,

Andie

Reasons we love Peter:

-He's a Money Grubbing Whore
-He's not a masagonist
-He's a concerned parent
-He's sly
-He's got a witty sense of humor
-He's really good to Bobby

Reasons we love John

-He's yummy
-He's talented
-His hair actually makes him really sexy! (Plus the curls!)

Andie - Thanks for opening a Peter Appreciation thread Amazing that he didn't have one before - I looked all around and there wasn't one - weird! I know - it seems like after the whole chess episode, he was gone - out of the picture. I hope he returns in the next, new episode

I was so surprised myself.. wanted to post on the Peter Appreciation Thread... and couldn't find one..*sigh*

I loved Peter&Bobby getting closer in chess lessons. What wonderful scenes they had together. I hope to see their relationship growing... that they are doing more and more together... an older man in Bobby's life would probably be good, very good for him

Peter had great scenes in "Chess Lessons". I completely agree that Bobby needs an older man in his life, like Peter, to help give him direction his mom or Jack might not be able to bring to him.

I really hope we do - he's a great character that needs to get fully explored. Don't bring up the long wait - I'm in withdrawal

I liked that we actually had a few Peter scenes in RS. He seems to be getting along better with Courtney, and becoming like a father to Bobby. I also like his sense of humor. He's fairly dry and sardonic. Nice contrast for the show.

I thought it was great that he made the effort to communicate with Courtney. He broke the ice and they ended up having a really good conversation minus any arguing. Peter has comes a long way, which is probably because of his new relationship with Bobby.

He dosen't have a son, and Bobby dosen't have a father, so it's different for both of them. I'm curious as to why Peter's so eager to be close with Bobby. Isn't it just the tiniest bit wierd that an older guy and a kid would become frineds? Although, Peter's sort of at a pained stage (his wife) and Bobby's an old soul, so I can acutally sort of see why. Still wondering what Grace'll do when she hears about the chess lessons. God, it'll be hilarious!

I'm just shocked by that. Would you think the same thing if it was an older woman and girl Bobby's age? I agree, on paper it sounds strange but Peter is a teacher and he really is teaching Bobby more then anything. We don't know anything about Peter's background so maybe he sees a lot of himself in Bobby.

Yeah, I suppose. It was just a random thought. I hope we get a lot of Peter next week!

ETA: he might see a lot of himself in Bobby. Interseting thought.....

I really liked how Peter told the story of his wife and his relationship and applied it to Courtney's predicament at the current moment - without blatantly telling her it, he gave her hope of a relationship, which I loved

I'm curious about Peter and his wife. When he first met Grace, and they were discussing things, and she asked about his wife and her being out of the picture permanently, he said "Seems pretty permanent." Kind of low-key for a guy whose wife committed suicide. I want to learn more about him. He seems like a restrained person. It'd be interesting to see him cry, or be really upset, or something we haven't seen from it yet. He may show that side of himself to Grace or Bobby, since he seems to be friends with Bobby, and has a liking for Grace.
