Of course, blame the cat... it's always the cat. It's never Shelly.

Lis, you were the first person I thought of when I read it this morning. From TV Guide Online:
Quote:
IT MUST MAKE HIM HAPPY: Seven-time Tour de France champ Lance Armstrong and singer Sheryl Crow are engaged to be married, after nearly two years of dating; no wedding date or location has been announced. Armstrong proposed to Crow last week in Sun Valley, Idaho, by slipping a tiny, yellow rubber bracelet around her finger. It was cute.
I don't think that last bit is true, but it cracked me up. I'm really happy for them.

"...by slipping a tiny, yellow rubber bracelet around her finger."

OMG you have no idea how hard that made me laugh. I'm in tears.

That's just really funny. I'm not sure if it's lame or cute, it's just hilarious right now. Oh and I defintely hope he's joking about coming out of retirement and do the tour next year. That would make me mad.

I'm sorry but I really hate it when pro athlets say they are going to retire or do retire and then say they are coming back! It's just really annoying to me b/c if they're not really serious about retiring then don't do it. Just say you are taking some time off and then get back to it when you're ready. I know feelings change and people change their minds but again like I said don't say you're done if you're truly not.

Lance should definitley not come back. He's won 7 and is lucky to have that record. He should quit while he ahead.

Yeah. Like a cycling example is the greatest cyclist ever, Eddy Merckx, who won 5 tours, tried for six and couldn't do it (he got punched by a fan) and then he came back and got 2nd, then he tried again and got 7th. And I know Lance just totally wanted to go out on top and not come back. And if he doesn't win, his legacy will be tarnished. I really think it is a joke though. He said "I'm thinking it's the best way to piss the French off."

I hope he's joking then b/c I'd really hate for him to try for an 8th and not get it.

No, he'd win an 8th. You wouldn't have to worry about that.
