I really hope this show gets renewed. If not, then this was a perfect ending. But, I'd rather have the show come back next season! There were still so many questions left unanswered.

All I can say at the moment is that this was quite possibly the most emotional hour of television that I have ever sat through. Everything struck a nerve with me and I seriously teared up throughout the entire thing. I hope the show comes back, but if it doesn't, this was the perfect ending.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree with all those who said that this episode was the perfect ending to what I hope is just the first season.

Well, what can I say?
Jack - I'm happy that he was able to make his mark before his premature death. He's certainly a hero-type character, and I had been a bit afraid that his self-sacrificing nature was what would eventually lead to his death.

By the way, in the original version of the script, he is shot by a drug addict while driving to his son's soccer game. The change, I'm guessing, is supposed to be ironic, since his father had supposedly killed someone while robbing a store and that's how he died. Both are senseless, but this seems a little too neat.

Juan - both were great during this meeting...the way Jack was fighting so hard not to cry. Juan has a comforting sort of ease and humor about him, and I hope their relationship continues to grow in the future.

Jack and Bobby - their scenes together were just great -- their relationship is what makes the series for me. Jack paved the way for Bobby...in practically every aspect of life, almost protecting him in a way by testing the waters out first. I think Peter's right in saying that Jack always expected Bobby to surpass him. It's only fitting, for Bobby can learn from Jack's mistakes and go farther because of it. The shot of Bobby running past Jack was perfectly timed with this comment.

------------------------------------

The writers certainly knew what they were doing with this one. If this is it, then it's been a true pleasure, and there couldn't have been a better ending. If we are so blessed as to get a second season, there are so many doors that can be opened, so much more territory to explore. Who did Jack marry? Was Juan actually innocent? What about Grace in the future? Is Bobby alive during the time of the documentary?

The finale generated so much press, with a New York Times article extolling the show's values today to being on everyone's must-see lists. I truly hope that the WB sees what a treasure they would be losing if they didn't bring this show back for a second season. I was crushed when I first read that LJ post, but I have faith that quality will prevail in this case.

*sniff* I suppose that's it then... It's been fun. But it's always been about the adults for me.

I will have to rewatch this episode on Sunday. I was online when it was on and didn't really pay much attention to it.

I did see the part with Grace and Peter. I am totally hoping that those two hook up. I have always like him. The are so different, and thats what makes them perfect for eachother. I am so so happy that Tom is out of the picture. I'm sorry, but that was just the worst relationship ever. The age thing didn't bother me. He was just way too immature and somewhat annoying. He completely ruined her image and Grace can do so much better than that.

I didn't really watch the part where Jack visited his father. I did hear his father recalling some memories from back when Jack was a baby, talking about some blanket or something that Jack always carried around. And I think I heard Jack ask him if he left because of him. It sounded like a very emotional scene and I really wish I had paid more attention.

The ending was good though. I did watch that. Courtney and Jack finally kissed. It was about time. I have been waiting for those two to hook up all season. And then hearing the end, that Jack was killed while robbing a store. Similar to the story of his father. Very shocking and intense.

Like I said, great ending. If it was the series finale, then I think it ended well and tied up a lot of loose ends. But I really enjoy this show and I hope that it gets renewed. Besides Charmed, it is the only show that I watch on the WB.

I may or may not have cried during this episode. (Pssh, who am I trying to kid? I was bawling!!)

The scene where Jack and Bobby were talking outside the hotel... I could feel the tears brimming, and I was like, "Okay, as soon as they hug, the floodgates will open." And then they hugged. And out came the tears.

The G/P scene was pretty good - very bold move on Peter's part. I always knew I liked him.

I loved the Jack scene with his dad - Lou Diamond Phillips was awesome. When Jack was fighting not to cry, I started up again. I swear, I have the most over-sensitive emotions ever. It was beautifully acted. I was a little dissappointed that Bobby didn't go, but it didn't surprise me. Bobby's scenes were awesome overall - I can't believe how good an actor Logan Lerman is. And at such a young age! He deserves a round of applause.

I loved the future bits - we finally got more of Jack's story. When they talked about him collapsing "not due to a bullet, but an old running injury" I definitely gasped. And cried when I found out how he died. I can't believe how into this episode I got - it felt like the characters were actually REAL. It usually feels like that, but it was more so than usual in this episode.

And yay for Jack and Courtney! I felt sorry for Marcus, though. Poor boy... come visit me, you can have me instead!

I really, REALLY hope the show comes back for another season. But if it doesn't, it couldn't have ended on a stronger note.
