Oh I know! I remember when he told her he cheated on her. I think Tom was a little too immature for Grace even though they were adults. He was still much younger and he didn't think their relationship was exclusive. I felt bad for Grace.

I don't think Tom was immature, they just had way too big of an age difference. I don't really mind age differences, but in reality, when it comes down to it, age differences do matter. And, didn't they have like a 20 year difference? I don't really think they had any chance of surviving that.

He wasn't immature in the sense that he acted childish, b/c he didn't, but he was immature to me in the sense that he was much much younger than Grace and needed to experience more than she had already and learn more about himself.

I remember Jack only being 7 or 8 years younger than Tom. That would piss me off if I was Jack!

Patrick Dempsey used to have a step-son who was a year older than him.

Yeah I know. He married his 40 something manager (or whatever) when he was in his early 20's. I do think age matters when it gets past 15 years.

I think it matters even with 10 years.

Yeah I don't think I'd ever date or marry someone past 10 years, but after 15, it starts looking ridiculous!

Yeah, it just doesn't work. Even with just a ten year difference, people are at different points in their lives. It just becomes dysfunctional.

I would say 7 years would be the limit if I dated an older guy. At 7 years, at least you were born in the same decade and aren't too far apart in age, but just enough where there is an age difference.

Yeah. Seven sounds reasonable.

I was watching The View the other day and the runner-up for last season's American Idol is dating a guy 19 years older than her.

Who even was that? I never watch American Idol. I only watch the auditions they show on tv just b/c they are hilarious!

Yeah, that's Katharine McPhee, the runner-up on American Idol last season (she lost to Taylor Hicks, the guy with the gray hair you may have seen photos of).

Her boyfriend is 19 years older than her (she's 22; he's 41) -- and they've been dating for several years, so when she was 19, he was 38!

And, yeah, I plead guilty to watching Idol -- but only in the final stages.

Wow, I didn't know they've been dating for a while.

I usually watch the auditions and then when it gets to like, the final 10.
