I think keeping a secret is fine if it's to protect someone. I'm not a huge fan of secrets because in the end, they almost always end in disaster. Someone I know has a son, but hasn't told his other children that - I think that in time, it's just going to bite him back - I personally wouldn't like my parents keeping quiet about something that huge. If a person keeps a secret to protect themselves, I don't necessarily agree. But, on the other hand, I do see that perhaps they don't want to spread the news out - maybe they want to do deal with it privately. I completely respect both keeping and not keeping secrets - they're good and bad.

If it was important I would want to know. Either then that it's my mother's business.

I'm good at keeping secrets but not when drinking.. So don't tell me something unless your ready for me to let it slip sometime. Of course there are somethings that I have never told anyone like .........................................................!

There are lots of 'holes' regarding what I do and do not know about my parents and their lives before I they had me. They've told me what they wish to tell me. It's enough. I don't need to know everything. They don't know everything about me. We both use our own discression when deciding such matters. That doesn't mean that I don't sometimes wonder about some things, but it's not my place to ask, nor is it ever appropriate to do so. They've kept some things from me, consciously or subsconsciously, because they felt it would be better that way. You've got to trust your parents judgement as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that parents will use their judgement wisely and if they feel like you should know, they'll tell you - it's up to them. My only problem with that is if it's to cover something up that they did - so they don't look bad - I don't like that.

Public Service Broadcasting vs. Ratings

Also, we are in dire need of possible questions for next week - if you have any ideas, either PM me or post them below

I've never been hunting and I've never cheated. .....

Hunting could provide an interesting subject...though or we could bring our cheating discussion over from B/C thread.
