Jack & Bobby - Bobby's VP

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed the dates, or caught their significance, but Bobby's VP did not serve a full second term.

In the pilot, his VP is listed as having been VP 41-46. Well, that's a tough pill to swallow. She becomes VP Jan. 41 and serves until the same time in '45. The fact that she Serves into '46 means Bobby is re-elected, but then she is no longer VP. Of course, that means there are only two possibilities:

1.) She resigns or is dismissed from her post.

2.) Bobby dies in '46 and she becomes President.

Now, the second possibility would make sense given the fact that Bobby is always spoken of in the past tense. However, the show begins with a speech by a man whom we can only assume is President in 2049. That would mean the former VP (forgot her name) was defeated in an election 2 years after Bobby died.

The first possibility is really unlikely in my mind, VPs don't get fired or quit mid-term -- outside of the West Wing

It just doesn't happen.

However, this is something I would really like to see addressed in a coming episode.

Dommie in the Innocent Man discussion thread brought up a great point - maybe the reason the VP didn't stay all the years in office might be due to this "affair". Any comments?

Even if this affair is not true. Which as of right now, I don't believe that it is. It would still force the VP to resign in my eyes. Especially after she gave that speech about Bobby during the scandal. The perception of an affiar would take away everything that she said about the President because she was sleeping with him.

Well, I figured that this thread should be brought back in light of Wednesday's events. Do you guys think that she will be featured again? I was really shocked that the affair speculation turned out to be true. I wonder if the media handled it the way they did the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal...

I'm really upset with Bobby about this.

I can't belive he would do that. But she did seem like a nice person from what we've seen, so......

I think I'd like to hear more about it - like specifics - right now, it just seems so vague and not everything is known.
