Legacy: Episode Discussion - Season Finale - (5/11/05)

From thewb.com:
Quote:
Jack (Matt Long) and Bobby (Logan Lerman) discover that Grace (Christine Lahti) plans to visit their father, Juan (guest star Lou Diamond Phillips, "La Bamba," "Hollywood Homicide"), in a Texas prison. Bobby insists on joining her and the three embark on a spontaneous road trip, where Grace is forced to reveal the shocking reason their father is in prison. The future reveals Jack's heartbreaking fate and details Bobby's unlikely road to the Presidency and, for the first time, we hear the voice (Tim Robbins, "Mystic River") of President McCallister. Author Gore Vidal ("Lincoln") appears as the host of the McCallister documentary and producer Norman Lear ("All in the Family") appears as the elderly Peter Benedict, Bobby's future father-in-law.

Jessica Pare, Edwin Hodge and John Slattery also star. Michael Schultz directed the episode with teleplay by Maggie Friedman and Marc Guggenheim and story by Vanessa Taylor and Michael Green.

They cut the T/G scene!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well. Maybe cause Brad's moved on to a new series, and if the show is renewed, he might not have time.......

Ok.....

Grace - Oh. My. Love. Worship the ground she walks on, I really do.
Juan - So sweet. Good guy at heart. WANT to see more!
Peter - Wow. Was that forward or what?! Just going out and telling Grace he liked her. Eee. The G/P shippers and T/G shippers are about to wage war..........
Jack - Big eppie Jack-wise. Met his dad, got the girl, and, through Flash Forwards, dies, is in the miliatary, has two kids, runs for congress, and works as an attorney. Wow.
Court - Sorry, I just can't get into J/C.
Marcus - Poor guy.
Bobby - In general..........STOP BEING MEAN TO YOUR POOR MOTHER! With Peter......Aww. Cute that they bonded a bit.
Jack's wife...........Oh, dare I hope it's Katie?
One Tom reference......by Peter, no less. Did they really say he left? I'm a torn shipper......happy about G/P, sobbing about T/G. Is it so wrong that I want Brad's new show to fail so he can come back as Tom?

I don't know if Jack & Bobby has been cancelled. But if it has, it couldn't have ended any more perfectly. Not only do we get to see what placed Bobby on his road to the White House, but we also got to see that Jack's nobility carried over into the future. However, I am simply heart broken that his death was a result of a senseless act of violence. I could have accepted it more if he died during the war. That at least would have made a kind of sense. If dying young makes any sense at all. I can't say anymore right now, cause I can't stop crying.

We all know that this may very have been the final episode of Jack & Bobby. I want to take notice of the last scenes first. For Bobby, it was always about being like Jack. Following in his footsteps. Even as it was shown in the future. Bobby, was brought into politics from Jack's death. Serving out his brother's term. Then much like the running scene, Bobby went farther, ran faster, then Jack. He stepped out of his brother's shadow and was able to walk into his own light. I like to think of it like this... When Jack died, Bobby was finally born.

Jack and Courtney are back where they started. As is Marcus, only Marcus was the one to drive her there. To make her see that she want's Jack and now she can have him. They are both ready to take that step into a real relationship. I wouldn't want to live a lie and niether did Marcus. He wouldn't settle for being second to Courtney. That's what it would have been no matter what. Second, Jack was first and nothing could ever change that.

I could feel the moment of when I met my father comign back to me when Jack met his. The tense emotion of the moment. Everything flooding your senses. I am glad that Jack and his father will try to write to each other. Perhaps even someday Bobby will want to go and see him. You never know. The scene was beautiful and both Lou and MAtt did a wonderful job.

Peter was pure joy when Bobby went to see him. I think that if showed him that he was doing something right. He is trying to be a father to his girls and is afraid that nothing he does means anything to them anymore. To have Bobby come to him and say that he was thankful to have Peter in his life was a huge moment for Peter.

I am still shocked that this season is over. So much and yet so little has been covered. If this was the last episode of the show. I think it was done right. The story of Jack and Bobby. two brother's through the course of their lives.

Wow...all I can say is that I really hope that this is only the season finale. I will seriously cry if this show is cancelled, but if it is than this was a perfect ending. Even though there is still so much more left to do, and more questions that are left unanswered.

This episode was just brilliant, from Jack meeting his father (Lou Diamond Phillips was wounderful in this episode), to Bobby giving his picture to Peter. Grace was magnificent as usual, and I loved the future clips and talking about Jack's life. I hate it that he dies, but I'm glad that we got to learn more about Jack's life up until he was killed.

I'm happy that J/C finally are together, loved the kiss.

Overall as I said before this was just an amazing episode, and I am really hoping that we get another season.

I hope I'm doing this right.

I'm just going to C&P what I said on another board because I'm lazy:

This whole episode was perfection to me. Seeing all the future heads again; seeing the father and knowing Jack will write to him. Seeing Bobby thank Peter. Seeing Courtney and Jack find their first love; finally. The pictures of Jack graduating and of a soldier and finding out how he died. Jack and Bobby...hugging; how they'll always be together. And the final sprint, very similar to the pilot episode. Talking about Bobby's coolness and how Bobby will always be the little brother. It was just all perfection. It really did seem like the end, though. A goodbye from everyone, really. If it is the end, I wouldn't have had it any other way. I saw exactly what I wanted to see and I was happy with everything. If it's not the end; next season is going to have so much momentum from everything tonight!

If it's the end, it ended the way it started: with perfection.
