Coin Locker Babies

This is the place to discuss Coin Locker Babies, listed at IMDB as a pre-production movie project for Liv.

Plot Outline: Two young men who were abandoned in their infancy seek revenge on their mothers. It's based on the novel by Ryu Murakami.

Quote:
Lennon Gives Birth to 'Coin Locker Babies'
A strange coming-of-age tale based on Ryu Marakami's bestselling Japanese book.
March 9 2005
Sean 'son of John' Lennon has co-written a script that is set to go into production later this year.

This isn't just any ordinary script, but rather the most insane story we've heard in a while: a surreal odyssey that takes place in the weird and wonderful world of late 20th-century Japan.

'Coin Locker Babies' (which is based on the Japanese bestseller of the same name by Ryu Murakami) tells the tale of two unwanted infants abandoned in adjacent train station lockers at birth.

Following a stint in an orphanage and some serious hypnotherapy, the pair are then raised as brothers before moving to Toxitown, a polluted city full of freaks and hustlers.

Once there, one of the brothers becomes a transvestite rocker looking for fame and love, the other a pole vaulter whose girlfriend encourages him to destroy Tokyo.

So it's safe to say this one won't exactly be mainstream...

Lennon has co-written the screenplay with Jordan Galland, Peter Kline and Michele Civetta, who will also direct the film.

There is no word on cast as yet, but Liv Tyler, Vincent Gallo, Asia Argento and Val Kilmer are all currently in talks to star in the film.

There's not very much info about the film presently but hopefully that will change!

We first heard of this movie ages ago, and nothing has happened! It's like it's in perpetual pre-production limbo Now it doesn't look like it's coming out until 2008, if ever

Yeah, it's so annoying when that happens! I wish we just knew one way or another what was happening with it.

An article about Lindsay Lohan here starring in the movie about John Lennon's murder goes on to mention Sean Lennon and Michele Civetta....and Coin Locker Babies! Confused, much?

Quote:
With the production looking sleek, it’s probably accurate to say "Friendly Fire" cost a pretty penny. If this all works out, Civetta is scheduled to make a feature film next year called "Coin Locker Babies," co-written by Lennon and starring him as well as Val Kilmer, Liv Tyler and Argento.
Not much but it does seem it's still going ahead which is good!

According to LLT their sources have said Liv won't be doing this movie...It's a shame because Liv movies are always something to look forward to but out of the 3 movies that have been linked with Liv lately I'm kind of glad it's this one she's not doing

Yep, me too. It's a shame we will have one less Liv movie to look forward to, but out of all the projects she has lined up, this is the one I'm probably least excited about.

Although August Rush sounded interesting, would have liked to have seen her stay on that one. Her and JRM together? Screen would explode from Teh Pretteh

Yeah August Rush did sound really good. I think this movie would have been interesting but it doesn't appeal to me as much as the others.
