I was watching Mike Lobel on last night's episode and it really struck me just how much he's able to convey a lot of emotions in fairly limited screentime. I really think he does a terrific job and is one of the best actors on the show. There's a reason why I've really enjoyed quite a bit, every episode with a heavy Jay presence, and it's not just because the writers do a good job of writing for him.
I would love to see them have an addict storyline play out over essentially a full season. Start off by having the character experiment or dabble in the drugs or alcohol. Then later have the episode where we see the character try to function in their life, all while trying to hide from those closest to them what's really going on with them and then later in the season, have the episode where it all comes crashing down for them. And all while this going on, keep constant but still subtle reminder of what's going on, in background scenes and what not. I admit this would hard for them to do, but it's something, that if done right, could be so damn good and powerful. And fwiw, I think Emma (yes, our Emma) would be a good candidate for this storyline. __________________

Yeah I agree I think Mike is a good actor. I actually like to see Toby have that storyline but I do like the idea.

Rayanne was Angela (the main character)'s best friend on My-So-Called-Life.
