Yes, it's always nice to educate the folks.

It was 40 years ago tomorrow that we landed and walked on the moon (unless you're one of the wack jobs who think the only place we walked was some studio in Hollywood.

). With Cronkite's passing, that seems an even more powerful moment in history.

It was a swim meet for the swim team my sister's kids are part of. Those things last three hours and can be tortuous, but at least all three of the kids I cared about did well. The best moment was a freestyle relay that featured both of the boys. The other team (which did end up winning the meet) was making a lot of noise and doing one of those godawful cheers. The relay race started off with my youngest nephew going against other kids his age (each team had two relay teams). He did his best, but he's a little younger than most in that age bracket (9-10) and came in a distant second. The next kid made up that distance and then my oldest nephew put the team so far out in front that the last kid could have floated his way home and still won the thing. It was pretty cool.

for your favorites on the swim team. We had a swim team at my high school and college, but I never was into swimming as a sport, except for the Olympics. But....that episode with Melanie on the swim team and L.C. pushing Joey into the pool is one of my favorites.

So apparently Melinda Shankar and our Jake are friends. They saw Bruno together.

L.C. was cool, man. She could beat up half the boys. But I was totally a Melanie in high school. And yeah, I would've crushed on Snake back then, too.

I'll say this about the Harry Potter movies, they really have an amazing cast. I was watching the 5th one last night and the credits came on and they started showing the cast and after the three kids, every person was a revered British actor. It's probably easier to list those revered British actors who haven't been in the Potter movies than who have.

Oh and earlier today I saw the new Harry Potter flick.

Oh and the week will be over before you know it.
