What story lines can you see happening for Shay in the future?

She seems to be very driven and focused, so I guess the obvious route would be for something to happen that throws everything into chaos. She wouldn't be the first Type A to go down that road so when that likely happens here's hoping they give us a fresh spin.

Aww they are so cute! Didn't know she had a sister...or that she was also an actress. She's on a new Nick show Henry Danger.

Yeah, she was just a little nervous in that Orange Carpet interview. And very endearing.

I wonder if we'll see any more plots involving her of if she'll just be a side character for the rest of the season? I'm guessing the latter which I'm fine with if it results in some good plots for some of the underused outgoing Grade 12 crew (Dallas, Jenna, Connor). Of course it will probably result in some more Eli/Clare stuff which....well, that's for another thread.

Disappointed that Shay only got one plot. Lola didn't have much to do as a sidekick either but I think there has been plenty of build up for her. I wish we had gotten to know Shay better.



At least she was looking pretty at Frankie's birthday party.

Agreed. I still find Shay to be very interesting and am frustrated that the writers have been giving her nothing. I hope that changes next season, but you know this show.

Yeah, we can only hope she gets more to do, but unfortunately some characters just get boxed into sidekick category and never emerge.

I worry about Shay more than Lola because she will always get the funny lines as the ditz. Shay is the serious one. They get overlooked sometimes. Or else they have a plot where they have an identity crisis. I don't know if I want that for Shay.

[Favorite] Degrassi Next Class character (excluding Winston)? Reiya’s character Shay is one of my favorite characters in this upcoming season. Her character is so cool now, I can’t wait for everyone to see this next season.

That's interesting! I wonder what kind of "cool" Shay is now. Dressing differently? Attitude change? It seems early for something dramatic. Maybe this is gradual. I don't really want a "new look, new Paige" type situation. Andre also appreciates Jonah with his backstory so maybe, if Andre gravitates towards liking certain things, Shay could be similar.

I was really surprised to read that Shay would actually be (presumably) having a story line next season. I was sure the writers would shove her character into the background the same way they did in the past with their other black female characters. I hope Shay's transition at least seems somewhat consistent. I like who she is already.

yeah that article got me excited for shay, I just wonder what type of plot she is getting, sounds like it must be good!

That be good. I was thinking maybe an Adderall abuse story line because she such an overachiever. Have they even done that one before? I don't really recall it. That's a big problem I be shocked it they haven't
