Shay Powers

Fellow newcomer Shay Powers, played by Reiya Downs, who is determined to be one of the school's top athletes. While Shay has high standards when it comes to high school and boys, the only guy she's interested doesn't exactly feel the same way. *

Shay loves playing sports and is determined to be the best athlete that she can be. She also aims high in school and only accepts the best grades. Her standards also extend to boys, where she won’t give herself away to anyone. There is only one guy she has eyes for, but will Shay have a rude awakening when she realizes that she can’t always get what she strives for? *

Yes she's joining the cast in season 14. She's a freshman I believe, in the same class as Frankie and Hunter.

So who do we think she has a crush on? Who is likely to not return her affections? For some reason I think it might be Jonah. Because he is someone who is unexpected and different from her. Or there is always Drew. Everyone loves Drew.

^ omg that's what Drew needs right now. I kept thinking about Zoe and Drew's hookup when she was taunting Becky.

Anyway to the subject of this thread. No lines yet but nice we saw her and the other new girl hanging in the background.

I love her hair especially at the end when she had the cheering bow in it. Cute! I think she's going to be fun and a little innocent which is exactly how I like my freshman on this show.

I wonder if we will see her competitive nature come out when it comes to academics as well. Don't know who she would be competing with there...but I can see that being another lesson for her. Have we had a cheating plot recently?

I completely blanked on title ideas when creating this thread so I'm open to anything. Or maybe we will can come up with something when we see more from her.

So we got some more exposure to her last night and discovered who her crush is. I enjoyed her scenes, and casual confidence she showed.

Her moves on Dallas were pretty good. If only I had that kind of confidence in grade 9

She's got this great confidence, like holy crap. 9th/10th graders usually don't have the balls enough to straight-up walk to a 12th grader like she did. I don't wanna get into the fact she almost kissed him. Shay, don't drop your standards so low, pls. You're too awesome for basic boys (basic in terms of Dallas. I didn't include Drew because she wasn't flirting with Drew or he'd be part of that list).

SHAAAAAAY. SLAAAAYYY.

If Zoe ever leaves the cheer squad or whatever, I know who is next in line to take over. Shay effing Powers.
