You know what I'd like to see? That his father is one of those types that pushes his son hard to be an athlete and is homophobic. Has anyone ever read Perks of Being a Wallflower? The narrator is good friends with an openly gay guy named Patrick and Patrick has a secret gay relationship with the school jock Brad. One night, Brad's father catches them together and starts beating on him ("Not a slap kind of beating. A belt kind. A real kind.") It would be absolutely heart breaking and I don't know if they'd want to take on the fact that some parents treat their kids terribly when they find out. Degrassi always has more of an optimistic outlook and is all "everything will be okay."

That's what I was thinking too, Nicole-- a very masculine father who wouldn't be comfortable with Riley's sexuality. I actually think Degrassi would do it, but maybe not this season because part of me thinks Peter isn't going to tell. It seems like they're softening him up.

It worked on Dawson's Creek. Jack was a football player, too.

Yeah, I'm hoping they take it slow too and this would be something that happens next season.

From the episode description of a later episode, it sounds like Riley is still deep in denial so you'd think that a lot of people wouldn't know about him kissing Peter. I'm having trouble figuring out how this episode would end, but I can't see it ending with him coming out.

I wish FF would have been up and running when Riley's big episode aired.

I'll come back in with a review later...I was doing some writing for an LJ entry (BIG TV review) and now I'm pooped before I got to 805. Riley deserves me in full cheerleader mode. Did anyone listen to Arigris podcast? This thread soooo got a mention.

Ok I reviewed his episode in the 805 discussion thread.

I was really impressed with Argiris since he doesn't have much on screen acting experience. I thought he did a great job. I can't wait to see what he does for his next episode. I'm crossing my fingers for lots of Riley in season 9.

So did you guys listen to his podcast from last week? I thought it was hilarious when The-Seth asked him if he could box and he was all "well I'm sure I could hit something." He's also into 80's music. I approve! I remember at his vside event they were playing a lot of 80's...guess that was Argiris.
