I agree with everything you have said. When I first saw/heard about his character in the BTS thing I NEVER thought I would be interested in him at all. But after hearing about his upcoming storyline I am so glad he is not going to be what I thought he was (Just some stupid, popular, lady's man, jock) because I am typically not drawn to those types of characters. This is all going to be very different and I can't wait!

I know one of Riley's big episode is coming up (Man With Two Hearts) but we haven't even talked about him in Fight The Power yet!

So what did you guys think? I thought they did excellent work setting up his character. Judging from what we know is down the road for him, he has ideals of what guys should be like so I think it was appropriate that he taunt Jane with the rest of the boys. He was involved in the core part of Jane's bullying by being around for Derek and Bruce's jump in the hall, but knew when to back off. Very smart move Degrassi. I think we saw a bit of his star potential in that scene.

Maybe I'm just too much of a Riley fan but to me it seemed like the camera just ate him up and absorbed every bit of emotion he had.

yeah, even though he was a part of it i could see he was concerned for jane. we haven't seen much of him, but i'm totally obsessed already!!

No prob, Nikki. The promos can be a little too spoilery. I turned them into links. No promo up online for CTV's yet, I think.

I have to admit that I'm a little nervous for this episode after the mess they made out of 804. I know a lot of people like this episode but it was way too jam packed with issues for me (sororities, binge drinking, racism, and trying to fit in with your peers). I'm hoping this episode focuses more on Riley, although I'm expecting more on Peter and his fear of being judged and conflicted feelings about outing Riley to defend his own sexuality. For some reason I thought this would be a two parter and I'm disappointed it's not. It seems like it'd be a big episode, but maybe it's not anything huge like Pride. Hopefully they are just setting up for more of Riley's issues with his sexuality.

So am I the only one who's wondering if we'll get a glimpse into his homelife at all? I'm forming some theories on that.

Erin, who does the CTV promos, is on the road watching some Canadian skating thing. Her message, posted on the 28th, said she'd be back in about a week, so hopefully we get something in the next day or two.

My guess is we'll probably get more into his homelife later down the road.

Riley is sure getting really interesting really fast. I liked him in 803 and I hope 805 goes well for him.
