I'm all for Degrassi having more holiday episodes in general. I get the feeling seasons "3 and 4" are not going to go by as quickly as the previous two since they understandably want to hold onto the older cast members since they are, after all, mostly the ones getting all the buzz. So if we have four different blocks spanning one school, there's more than enough time to give us a Christmas, Halloween and maybe even Valentine's Day episode.

As for Entertainment Weekly thing.. oh my god. Well, at least Ricardo is 20.

Scenes like this have really become his thing. I hope Zig ends up working as a French chef.

I don't blame the writers for giving Ricardo comedic scenes. He always does a great job with them. But I do wish he'd get dramatic stuff more often that did not pertain to his relationship with Maya.

The whole way his family situation was handled still boggles my mind. I mean it actually makes my head hurt thinking about it.

Same here. I understand wanting a plot device for Zaya to live together, but once Zig reconnected with his mother, I wish they'd pursued that and season 14 had ended with him moving back in with her instead of with Jose. Now, it's yet another dropped plot line, Zig's mother is going down as one of the worst Degrassi parents when she was previously portrayed as caring and reasonable and all we can do is speculate. I hope this **** is resolved before he graduates, but I have so little faith.

So he is with Jose? I wish the writers cared enough to clarify it. It wouldn't take a lot. Maybe some reason the parents are at the school and we can see the different households that the teens come from. Like the season 1 ep Parents Day.

Too bad Ricardo can't take Zig home to his Mama...

I get the feeling we'll never get any kind of resolution or clarification when it comes to where Zig lives and I think that's terrible. I do realize that plenty of young adults go out on their own and don't have much of a relationship with their family, but to see it happen to Zig is sad. We saw during seasons 12 and 13 that he had a lot of respect for his mother and the downfall of his relationship with Maya is because, in part, that she's the only consistent support he's had in his life since being kicked out, causing him to cling. Or at least that's my interpretation. I do have to wonder how close Zig and Jose are.

Yeah, I think there's a decent chance that we'll never hear about his (or Tiny's) living situation again while he's on the show. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm at the point where I'm 98% sure the only resolution the writers care about where Zig is concerned is his romantic relationship with Maya. If Zig and Maya become a couple again and are endgame, they'll consider that a sufficient happy ending. Still, it's hard to swallow when you see all the Hollingsworth stuff and yet Zig can't get one subplot related to his family. Let alone poor Tiny.

I don't think it was ever said how young the little brother who witnessed the drug deal gone bad was or how many brothers Zig even has so maybe if one of them showed up at Degrassi then TPTB might give their family as much attention as the Hollingsworths. I would love that for a new character introduction!



This made me smile but it doesn't include that little wiggle he does over Maya that irritates her.

I've always thought they should introduce Zig's younger brother at some point. Mrs. Novak has already been introduced and we've seen the convenience store. Realistically, I imagine the Novaks are in about the same place financially they were in back in Got Your Money. So with an established back story, you would think the writers would have no problem introducing the younger Novak. The fact that Ricardo has a brother who also acts and conveniently resembles him makes this obvious and yet I feel like they've already forgotten Zig isn't an only child..

Aw Ricardo. I love Zig, Yes he has made mistakes, but who hasn't ?

It's as simple as that for me. I can't take it seriously when people talk about Zig as if he's a monster but then are praising characters like Hunter and Esme.
