I'm sad to hear that Code Black was cancelled after 3 seasons. I don't have cable so I was part of the problem. I've only seen season 1. And it sounds like Ben's character Mario really gets fleshed out as a character.

It looks as if the coming months are going to be a major stretch for Stephan James. First is the Amazon series Homecoming, in which he co-stars with Julia Roberts (that's them at the TCA shindig last month). You can read more about that here. Then later in the month, he has one of the lead roles in If Beale Street Could Talk, the follow up to Moonlight from director Barry Jenkins, and after seeing the trailer you can't help but figure this film will be a major awards player too.

A double post is worth it in this case as Stephan James received a Golden Globe nomination for his work on Homecoming, and If Beale Street Could Talk was nominated for Best Pictutre Drama, among other things. Congrats to him and all those involved in those two projects.

Our boy was on the Oscars! He presented the Best Makeup Award. It's too bad we only see him briefly at the beginning of the clip below, but still very cool.

And he gets a shout out from Best Supporting Actress winner Regina King at about the 2:28 mark of this clip.

A red carpet interview, that's to be honest, kinda painful.
