Oh I’m well aware, I just don’t think its bad for them to be negative. Cause I guess I’m a believer there is a thin line between love and hate and you can’t hate something unless you love it. Like I said reaction is good not matter it being positive or negative because a reaction means you care. If she didn’t still care for him she just have no reaction and he wouldn’t effect her the way he clearly still will. So I see it as a positive no matter what. I’m ultimately excited for this interaction cause I imagine it will be angsty.
I don't think Zig would be right I’m just saying he might say it in a moment of a fight and then regret it later, idk. But Actually I was rereading the ep, it doesn’t say Zig blames Maya for his cheating or even their relationship, he blames her for everything that happened between them. This could mean other things. I mean it could be their relationship and cheating but it could also be in the ep before they both lost the co-op opportunity because of some kinda fight between them. It could mean other things then him blaming her for cheating. Its easy to jump to that but we seriously thought last time around he was going to rape her based of “zig forces himself on Maya” and that’s not what happened. So I’m not gonna assume this means Zig blames Maya for his cheating. We should really wait and see before getting too upset about that one imo.

Exactly, It wouldn’t even matter if she did like Zig, Zg does not like Grace and yeah I still believe his rebound is gonna be Esme. Right, she’s not over Zig just as he’s not over her, these two are going through a SUPER emotional breakup because they still love each other, regardless of what happen that didn’t go away and thats’ what will continue to draw them together in this show.

Completely agree, its hard being a zig fan for those exact reasons. He could be pushing her away or maybe she’s pushing him away cause sometimes when your so hurt its easier to hate it then admit you still love it and that could be the case for both here.

I’m overall just excited for the angst, I know its not ideal s14 stuff but I really do love angsty moments and overall it sounds like what it is. And my guess is they aren’t going to conclude these plots with zaya looking horrible but playing on their feelings for each other and how hard being broken up is from someone you were really in love with because its not like Zig will just yell at Maya and that’s the plot, like come on there will be more to it then that, its a plot not one scene to make Zaya look like ****. It will have structure around it but all we have is one sentence that I overall think is super misleading.

You're right. Anger and resentment is still some kind of feeling, It would be much worse if Maya became numb and felt nothing for Zig anymore. Or vice versa. If they cannot make being in the same place work, then it's very clear they still have intense feelings. I mean, I imagine they'd have to. My guess is that 15B starts with the second semester, meaning only a couple of weeks have passed. I think one thing we can look forward to is the chemistry between Ricardo and Olivia. God, they play off each other so well. No two actors could pull off this ship nearly as well, IMO.

I know you weren't saying that. All I meant is that the show is wrong for writing Zig blaming Maya instead of taking responsibility himself. If it turns out to be over the co-op job, I might laugh because then it would actually be an entertaining fight. But it's so vague and it's hard not to assume he's blaming her for the break up. If I'm right and he does, he had better immediately apologize and tell her that he had no right to say what he did, even if he was upset, because he knows that it's no one's fault but his. Whoever types out those episode descriptions is sadistic. I'm not over being worried about Zig turning into a rapist.

I just wonder WHEN Zig starts hooking up with Esme, because it won't be in the first four episodes. Also, I wonder how long their fling lasts. It could easily just be a one night stand for Zig. Or some awful attempt to make Maya jealous. I'm kind of hoping, similarly to what happened to Triles last block, they slowly have Zaya reconnect at the end of one of their plots, even if it's just as friends.

Oh, that I could definitely see. It's exactly what Zig did in 13C, to hide the fact that he was hurting over Maya dating Miles and dropping their friendship. Still, I do want Maya to be allowed to attack first, so to speak. If he comes in acting like a dick to her, then I won't know what to think. Zig snapping after Maya has given him hell would work, but it does sound like based on the descriptions alone that Maya is just trying to deal and Zig attacks for seemingly no reason. So there must be a lot more going on.

I have a strong feeling that I'm going to cry next block. It will hurt seeing Zaya being apart and attempting to make things work without each other. But hopefully the time apart is going to do them good in the long run because I still see them as belonging together.

I was actually worried she would be kind of..not over it but have no reaction almost to their breakup, just keep it moving with her life and goals. So I guess that’s why I’m happy the first plot is about he feelings for Zig. And if that’s anger or sadness then I think that’s okay too see cause it be realistic. And its most likely a negative feeling like that because its not like she’s happy with him currently. And then the next ep description where it says he’s angry leads me to believe there is some animosity building between them. Exactly, I think that’s why I’m leaning toward they are both doing a co-oop class and maybe have to be partners and Maya can’t work with him because of her feelings so yeah it could be interesting. I agree I think its after winter break and they have a class together (co-oop opportunity) and its hard for them to be around each other. Exactly the chemistry is what will make this break up so interesting.

Agree, if that is the case but I have such a hard time believing he actually believes that because zig already has taken blame with Maya, at least when he’s with her he has and it just be weird for him to be like its your fault. There has to be something that gets him mad enough to make such a low blow if he’s blaming her for cheating cause again I would never believe he actually thinks that but would say it to bite back at her if she’s making low blows as well. It can’t just be a plot where randomly Zig’s like "Maya your to blame for our breakup". I assume no matter what he will apologize for whatever happens because knowing Zig he never wants to hurt her so he will probably say sorry for whatever goes down. I’m so numb after the rapist description that everything after that is never that bad to me, cause nothing will be as bad as the time I thought Zig was going to rape maya, nothing.

Well they do some sorta of dance so I’m trying to figure out how that fits like idk I can’t figure this one out at all, we just know they interact. I doubt it will be a one night stand because Esme is way to obsessive. Triles is different then Zaya, their break up was less deep imo and the hurt is not as deep between them so its much easier to be friendly I think. Where Zig and Maya were deeply in love and as Becky’s mom said when you get that intimate with someone it can really hurt your heart and Honestly believe that quote was for Zaya since Bonah wasn’t gonna be much and I think in the next ep Zaya had sex so yeah these 2 aren’t gonna magically walk off into the friendship sunset like triles did, its way to deep to happen like that. I be surprised if it does I guess. I’m honestly curious to see how bad the blood is between them when we return, that will determine a lot but I’m just theorizing that its not good but I could be wrong.

I think she will, it make no sense for zig to be so aggressive first when obviously one would assume being friendly would be his first move to at least salvage a friendship or any relationship with her, no way he’s walking in guns blazing. Well that make no sense, there is ALWAYS a reason, writing is never random if Zig’s on the defense its because someone put him on it and again why is Zig angry all of the sudden? angry at what? something Mya did made him angry and then he blames her for whatever he blames her for.And then he will probably find her and say sorry. Also I wonder if these are really c plots cause I know last time they were mixed up the plots and not in the right order, I could see this being more a b plot tbh. Since Zaya is a big ship its weird their relationship is a c plot. Agree there has to be more going on. A good examples is remember when Zig through Miles into a Locker, okay there was something behind that to make him do that, so Zig never acts out just to act out.

Yeah, you did mention that so it's for sure a relief that Maya cannot shut off her feelings. It's not really that she owes Zig anything or that I want her to be suffering, but after the endless screeching about Miles, I absolutely would like her to show that her failed relationship with Zig affected her in some way. They were a couple for longer without any breaks, after all, and it was more serious. Right, there's pretty much no way Maya will be happy about this on any level. Especially not this soon. But I'm still looking forward to the plot, the more I think about it. About the co-op class, is it possible that Ms. Grell simply pairs them together, assuming they'll be happy about it? LOL. Because I doubt their break up is currently common knowledge and they were likely done with exams or close to it by the time Maya dumped Zig. Oh, I can just imagine the various longing looks for Zig as Maya only returns them with cold stares. It will hurt, but it will be worth it.

Right. It makes no sense for him to blame Maya. My issue is that the writers so far haven't done the best job of keeping him in character and have instead elected to throw him under the bus for the sake of everyone else. I wonder what Maya could possibly say that hurts him that deeply. It could be about regretting the entire relationship or saying he's not good enough or.. I don't know. Maybe she implies that he's not going anywhere in life. It's the only possible thing that makes sense to me, at the moment. YES. Zig making a rude, insensitive comment (which he's done many a time) is nothing compared to being a rapist and he's far from irredeemable.

The dancing doesn't make any sense to me, either. Maybe they're taking a class? It can't be a musical (sadly) because it's way too far into the school year. Or maybe they're teaching dancing. I pretty much have no guesses. Watch it be something unpredictable, kind of like the swatting. Literally everyone assumed Zig was the target, not Maya. That's true about Esme, but she'd also have to see something in Zig that leads her to believe they're one and the same. Maybe he sleeps with her, only intending for it to be a one time thing, but she keeps pursuing him. The closest we've had to something like that is Dave/Jacinta. And sort of Cranny, I guess. No, I know that. I don't expect things to play out that exact same way. All I meant is something could happen at the end of one of the plots that thaws things between Zaya very slightly. It won't mean they're close to where they should be, but it could be a start. Honestly, the sooner Zaya is at odds, the sooner things will start to improve. One thing I'd be interested in is a possible friendship, in the near future. Now some adults can handle being friends with an ex, but how could Zig and Maya go back to being friends, after not just a romantic relationship, but a sexual one?

True. But then I wonder what exactly Stefan or whoever was referring to when they mentioned Zig being a bully. You'd think it would only mean with Hunter, but I honestly have no idea. Still, Zig being a jerk to Maya when he is the one who screwed up does not fit. It's just not their relationship and it's not Zig the character. TRUE. I hadn't actually considered that at all. I don't see it being the main plot because you know, Hollingsworth drama always takes precedence over everything, but maybe the B plot.

I think it's good that whatever possibly happens between Zig/Esme and Maya/Peter is beginning now. They both feel like blatant rebound couples and so with Zaya still interacting and having feelings, it leaves plenty of time for them to reunite later on. It's kind of sad knowing that Zig and Maya won't be on the show for much longer. I'll never believe the way they broke up was worth it, but I do think SOMETHING had to come between them for the sake of them getting that happily ever after.

The writers won't even make the story line about black lives matter about him even though he's the victim, but it could happen.

Exactly, she doesn’t owe Zig crap but I feel we are owed something as fans who suffered for many years wondering how she really felt, for her to just turn it off would be disheartening for us. So its nice to see it was real enough that she can’t just shut her feelings off.Cause we know Zig will be hurting that’s a give in, Maya I frankly wasn’t sure cause like we have said in the past she does not wear her heart on her sleeve the way Zig does. Her feelings can be so ambiguous at times. Zaya was for sure both the most serious relationship either has been in, they were planning a future together more or less so it only makes sense for this to be hard for both of them no matter how strong Maya is trying to be because she feels she can’t forgive him for cheating, its not like breaking up with him was easy. I feel like she wants to believe he just kissed Zoe, or that Zoe kissed him and he didn’t enjoy it but knowing it was more then a kiss that he kissed her back it was too much to forgive and she cute the cord but I think deep down she wanted it to be different. Idk where I’m going with this lol. Right?! its kinda what we were hoping for, a classroom situation where they are forced to face each other and maybe it be a little angsty at first. Yup I suspect she will be cold and he will be more hopelessly sad which is why in ep 2 I think he has to be set off by something cause he be more puppy eyed for her then angry, its just not Zig to get angry unless something is pushing him to be so. I agree, I think its all gonna build back up. Every ex goes through this cold period before becoming friends again and dating again, Jatlin did this, Crash did this, its just the way the writers do it.

Exactly that’s why there has to be a trigger for this to happen, no way he just wakes up and goes to school starting **** blaming Maya, if he does I will be shocked and will eat my words but I don’t believe that’s the case, there just has to be something going on here we don’t know about yet. True, hey do throw him under the bus but I think since its a zig pov platen ep 2 they won’t. That could be it, that be a button to push, but not really Maya’s style, i don’t want her to be out of character either. so idk…but I’m interested to see how it plays out and what’s really happening here.

I just can’t put two and two together, maybe once I see what Zig is up to outside Zaya I can try to come up with a theory but right now I don’t know how that happens. Also I’m wondering what she’s up to in the first few eps. Yeah probably we will be surprised by how it all happens . We also assumed it was about the gang lol. But I don’t think she sleep with him unless she did, is what I’m saying. She doesn’t seem like she just sleep with someone without knowing what she’s doing. exactly and its nice the writers are getting straight to the maya angst, cause it means they can get back to normal sooner rather then later.Not legit just friends, too much history but they can pretend sure…they did that once before lol but it be only a matter of time before they were all over each other again.

I think you should take that comment with a grain of salt, I think they meant him beating up hunter in that scene, calling him psycho kinda being the macho guy. i don’t think he’s gonna have actual plots where he’s being a bully. But I think Ricardo and stefan were simply explaining Zig’s anger is a way for him to feel he has control when he’s losing all control and it makes sense, Zig when he beat up Hunter and called him psycho felt not control over his personal life. I don’t see him bullying Maya. I just think it be weird for their relationship to be a c plot, its never been a c plot.

Agree, its shows there getting this out the way now all the rebounds and angst happen now is good. It will be worth it, its part of shipping a main ship tbh, this was always going to happen. And even before his cheating I wanted it to cause it needed to happen for their development for later on.

You're exactly right. Zaya ultimately means more than Matlingsworth ever did and so it would be a disservice to pretend as if Zig was nothing to Maya when it couldn't be further from the truth. They were best friends, housemates, confidants, each other's rocks and then lovers. The relationship was not casual in the slightest and even though they're broken up, I want Maya to falter a little and show her true feelings. Agreed. I think a part of Maya wanted to take Zig back and pretend the whole thing happened because she loved him a lot. But obviously that couldn't happen and because Zig was dishonest, he proved that he doesn't deserve her at this moment and that's why he needs time on his own. Yeah, you're right. I cannot believe we're getting so close to the premiere and still no promo. :p I'm not sure I'm fully prepared.

Right. Zig has shown up to this point that he felt a lot of remorse for the cheating and he loved Maya enough to put her emotional state and safety ahead of the relationship and confessed. So it would make very little sense for him to turn his back on all of that now, unless he were trying to distance himself or she said something first. I realize it's not like Maya, but she can also occasionally say things to Zig that really hurt him. First there was the thing in the rubber room, where she called him out on still loving her. Second was the thing in the kitchen where she said Miles was a better guy. Still, neither thing was as cold as what this would be. Still, maybe she's trying to keep her guard up and she knows it will get Zig to back off?

Well, we sort of have our answer about Zig/Esme and the dancing since 2x08 description has been released, but I am STILL confused. :p What kind of dancing opportunity does Zig have and why does he need Esme? Is he becoming a stripper with Tiny? IDK. Anything could happen. At least this continues to prove both Zig/Zoe and Zig/Grace won't happen. You have a point about Esme. It's just that she's such a mystery to me. I can't say I understand her at all. I will have to laugh the first time something sexual comes up, no matter what it is. Because it really would be a big elephant in the room. Any future boyfriends or girlfriends they have would undoubtedly be nervous about Zig and Maya's bond.

We don't have ANY promos so there's only so much I can do. :p Still, I'd say it was a bad way for Stefan to phrase it. You're right about Zaya not normally being a C plot, but they're up against the Hollingsworths. It would be hard for me to imagine either plot (Frankie or Miles/Hunter) being the C plot.

The thing about Zaya angst is that I enjoy the hell out of it and I know a break up is necessary. But the longer hiatuses make it almost unbearable. Especially knowing that there won't be any more Degrassi in 2016 after this. Unless Australia or some other country/continent shocks us again.

Exactly, this relationship was really profound in her life, she’s known him a long time and they go way back and it was clear as day she was deeply in love as was he. I am grateful they aren’t ignoring that but I think we have discussed before despite the things we don’t like, like Zig cheating, they mostly do good job with Zaya and they care about this ship. So I don’t worry about the longevity of them. I just always have wanted more of Maya’s view on it cause it was always done so vaguely for obvious reasons and season 14 we finally got her real feelings and I never want it to go back t o s13 weird vagueness. But it sounds like were good. Although I’m probably going to die a little inside if and when she pretends to move on with peter. But I know Zig will be in her heart still. Yes! I want to see her conflicted. Like okay the last ep she might finally get the whole truth from grace about how Zoemund ended up hooking up. And so far she only has Zoe’s side which just paints Zig as someone who didn’t think twice about cheating but…their was more happening in ep 7 then that and Grace has all the knowledge, she knows and saw what Zig was mentally like before going off with Zoe. So idk it probably won’t earn him forgiveness and shouldn’t but it gives a better complex look at why he cheated that might make Maya want to slightly reconsider. Because like we said i don’t think it was easy to end things and I’m sure her mind was trying to find a reason not too. So I like to see her stills struggle with having to end things with someone who in her heart she’s still loves and misses. But she conflicted. So I personally want to see her struggle with that more. oh the lying is on him, and that probably stung the worst. And is why she shouldn’t take him back anytime soon. I’m so excited I can’t wait for Zaya to be back!!!

I still just don’t see how that occurs but its something I think we need more info on, either way we know he’s gonna say sorry for whatever he says and again I’m super excited. I have no idea why he’s in a suite. At first I thought maybe it was from ep 8 and he was dancing then I saw it was ep 2 and so I guess it has to be for the co-op thing or he’s dressing up just for Maya idk..But Ricardo in a suite sign me the **** up Tru she can but idk I just am not use to seeing them be cruel to each other so it will be hard to see. Agree this sounds like low blows and really cold but I get it, Maya is SO hurt right now and Zig is probably hurt too, I think this is just gonna be a hard breakup. True lol this description kinda told us how but, Esme and Zig interacting still seems random so there must be a build up like she’s in a class or how does he know she’s a good dancer? lol I’m wondering how this actually comes about but anyway.. I’m wondering if they do become romantic or not, just cause they interact doesn’t mean it will become romantic but I wouldn’t mind it as a rebound. I think Peter/Maya is going to be way more annoying tbh cause I’m sure they will paint Peter as perfect but I think Maya will conclude she doesn’t want perfect, she wants Zig. OMG the stripper plot lmao I think its a professional dancing thing like for a musical or maybe a competetion he can win money for. Oh if I was dating maya or zig I be worried about the other, like Tori was, like Cam was like Miles was and even though they didn’t date Zoe pointed it out to Zig before so yeah Zaya is intimidating cause the fact is they can’t let go of each other.

I guess I can focus on bellarke or something but Zaya is like my current love, there that ship I’m so consumed with and I love them and I can’t quite get into another ship the same way right now. I'm really glad Zaya was so well done that there's no way to doubt how much she loved him. It may have taken longer than I would have liked, but she proved Zig meant everything to her when it counted. Which is why it's so sad to see it all fall apart after Maya opened her heart to him, fully. Another reason why I think the Zaya break up will be interesting is that I honestly think Maya has matured since her last relationship with Miles. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I think Maya is now.. less whiny? There's just a clear difference in maturity and when it comes to Zig, I get the feeling she won't want to talk about him at first. Not that even the most mature people can't discuss their exes, but I do think Maya has changed. Why do I have this horrible feeling Maya will find out the whole truth and be open to at least talking to Zig about it, whereas she wasn't at the end of the previous block, only to see him with Esme? I'd hate, hate, hate it, but what if? Something has to stop them from making up too quickly. Thankfully, the narrative is setting Zaya up to get back together later on. Speaking of the lying, I really, really want more of Zig becoming independent. Because lying to Maya, which he never would have done earlier in their relationship or even during their friendship, was one of his most desperate moments by far. I'm excited for them, too. <3 Only three days!

Personally, I'm a little disappointed the window scene happens so quickly. I know I'm going to love it, but still. I wanted something to look forward to and if I don't have that, how can I keep hope alive for the rest of the season? Which is why I need them to have more awkward encounters, even if they're small. ZIG IN A SUIT. Everything about that is wonderful. I want to cry. Zaya takes a huge emotional toll on me. ;p I hope the conversation in her bedroom goes at least a little beyond just Zig apologizing. I want them to be in a better place when he leaves than when he left last time.

I get the feeling he knows because plot convenience. Or else there's something else from a missing C plot. Seriously, what the hell are those plots going to be? Certain things seem out of the blue without them. I love how on Degrassi, we always assume any male/female interaction means of the romantic variety, no exceptions. :p But we're almost always right, so I don't blame us. As much as Peter/Maya will bug me, I'll LOVE the ending. Because I truly believe that will be Maya's conclusion. Zig is sometimes complicated and he has it in him to hurt her more deeply than any other guy, but he is the one and ultimately she feels way more with him than with Peter. I'm kind of expecting a "Manny, Sean is in here" kind of moment. Zig/Esme, on the other hand, will be a Zig relationship, so you know it won't get much attention. If it becomes a real thing, then I feel like Zig will get dumped because she realizes he still loves Maya. Just for the record, I'm never giving up on Zig becoming a stripper and/or sex worker. It would have worked perfectly for him, but I realize that would accidentally push the Hollingsworths to the side for five seconds and we can never have that. So I imagine you're probably correct and I want it to be another musical. Maybe it would be a summer musical and he'd have a nice distraction for the summer, since it's too late for it to be a school musical. Exactly. Anyone getting between Zig and Maya is doomed to have a broken heart. I wonder how quickly Peter and Esme will realize it.

God, I feel the same way. I've tried with other shows, but it's impossible to view any of them as an OTP, let alone one on par with Zaya. Nope, all of my other OTPs are from completed shows. But we'll figure it out, I guess. Or else we'll lose our minds and so help me, I hope this situation doesn't happen again. At least next time we'll get promo pics.

I just caught up on the recent descriptions. Of the Zaya stories I think what bothered me the most is Grace pursuing Zig. They threw hints so it's not like it's a complete shock but ugh.

Right? I don't want to believe it, because it's so out there and seems to go against who Grace is, but I've lost a lot of faith in Zoe/Grace happening. So I won't be completely shocked if Grace told the truth. Still, Zig doesn't have to go for it. In fact, I feel pretty confident he won't.

I don't think he will either, and if there's some slight chance he does I don't think it'll go on for more than a few episodes. If it played out I imagine it would be an Eli/Imogen type scenario where it's just not clicking and they realize they are better off as friends. Regardless Grace has been the best friend Maya's had since her and Tristan had that fall out and I'd hate to see that ruined over both of them being into Zig.

Still, I hope they don't go there at all because then it would forever be a thing that happened and I'd find it bizarre and kind of a slap in the face to Maya that Zig and Grace were romantically involved. I'd reluctantly accept one awkward kiss, but that's about it. :p Neither would I. I already think it's bad enough they've decided to turn Zig/Grace romantic. I'd hope they'd avoid turning them into the next Crellie. Especially with Maya still around.

I've talked so much about Zaya in the first two episodes of Next Class season 2 and frankly, I'm all talked out. I wish the writers had chosen a different direction for them and I wish Zig were not being written to be so ignorant. Still, I have hope after episode 2. Their final conversation was similar to the one at the end of Zombie.
