I have this odd desire to see Zig and Maya performing together on a street corner. Can't you just picture Maya with her cello and Zig with his guitar as they both sing? If nothing else, they could at least duet together for some open mic night. It's only a matter of time before Degrassi has another one of those.

I loved Zig and Maya's first meeting. It was very memorable and it's kind of something that you don't forget. It sometimes kills me that this ship has been teased but never made into a real thing for almost three years now.

tbh because they had an Eclare type meeting, It was obvious from the start the writers intended for Zaya to be something down the line, However I think this was before they created the Cam character and wrote that story. Which although kinda hurt team Zaya in a way, was great for both Zig and Maya as characters.Zig needed some development and I think that gave it to him. Zombies was a great zaya episode.But I honestly can't tell if the writers are still okay with the idea of them being Canon now, I know some fans are against it because of the Cam thing. Obviously most zaya fans would love it, but I'm sure the writer's room is split on it, just as the fandom is. But it be a shame if they don't ever explore them as a couple because they casted two actors who have this great chemistry and Zig and Maya are the product of what was gonna be canon so its hard to ignore that now and pretend like there is no romantic chemistry between them or that s11 never happened. I'm still optimistic though, I would like to think the writers have a long term plan for zaya.

I think that Zaya is meant to be the longterm pairing but the Cam story line got in the way of it a bit. I'm not sure the writers ever counted on how popular Cam became and by extension, Camaya. Now you have Zoemund which is also a fairly popular pairing that I saw fans rooting for even before they shared a scene. But overall, I do think Zig and Maya are intended to be each other's big love interest. The thing that makes me most optimistic is that it's still early on in their character's high school lives. If this was senior year, we might be screwed. But Zig and Maya are only sophomores and I can easily see the Zig/Zoe thing burning out by at least a theoretical season 16. The real wildcard, IMO, is Matlingsworth because I get mixed messages where they are concerned.

I get the vibe that if any ship will be endgame out of that class, it would be Zig and Maya. Simply because Maya is being positioned to be the main girl so I figure it's either she ends up with Miles or she ends up with Zig. I lean towards Zig if only because they've been the underdog up to this point and they consistently get thrown a bone every few episodes via ship teasing. It could all just turn out to be a big disappointment, but I do think they're intended for each other.

Their so cute, they just look like a couple in that picture or any time they walk near each other or stand near each other they look so good together.Do you think the rubber room kids are having dinner at the matlins or something? Maya is wearing that same outfit when her and Tiny are in her house high fiving one another.I would love a rubber room crew plot where we see their friendships. And of course more Zaya being super adorable

I don't care what the circumstances are exactly, but I would LOVE to see the rubber room kids and only the rubber room kids hanging out. What do they do for fun? Maya is less hardcore than the other three, for lack of a better term.
