Haha, that actually wasn't my thinking. I'm just not a huge fan of Spike in general. She's so whiny and self-righteous in DJH that I find it very hard to sympathize. And then in DTNG... well, first of all, Amanda doesn't even like her own character! She said so in the Degrassi Generations book. And the events of "White Wedding" don't sit right with me -- where she's ready to break it off with Snake because she kept it a secret that she was pregnant, and he says he's not ready to have children? (OMG -- I just had a revelation! I think this is why Jane annoyed me somewhat in Lost in Love... she was totally channeling Spike!)

But mostly, Spike/Liz would have been awesome because the subtext is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to ignore and the one main thing that annoys me about DJH/DH is that it never went there in a gay way. I also think Caitlin/Ms. Avery could have been awesome. Who's with me??!?!?!??!!? No one? Okay...

More gayness! It always makes things fun. You guys are making me become avid Spike/Liz shippers now haha. I used to be totally Spike/Snake a long time ago...like when I was 8 ROTF.

I sooo need to go to degrassidnl and download Season 1. I think I'll do that now.

I agree with you sooooooooooooooo much on Spike, mellifluouscloud. And what about the way she treated Shane? It was like "GAH HE IS TRYING TO HELP YOU AND BE A GOOD FATHER THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS LET HIM SEE THE GIRL".

I would ship Spike/Liz as the subtext is impossible to ignore, but I really don't hate Liz enough.

Gayness is fun! I think you all know what ship occupies so much of my life, so... something. IDK.

mm on the subject of homosexuality i can see why they orginally made it so it was an outside chracter who dealt with it. If they had made it an student chracter that we all know the whole subject of homosexuality would have come up more than once in the show but they would have wanted it to be an issue they only dealt with once eg like claude dying they chose claude because he wasnt a central character and his death was just so they could explore the issue of feeling guilty during death because they didnt go down that road with wheels but after the two showtime episodes there was nothig more of his death much like the homosexuality issue.

I haven't even started watching it yet but I'm very excited... This COMPLETES my Degrassi DVD collection!

My mom watched ALL of Degrassi with me this past summer... well, except for KoDS since I haven't even watched it yet. But she watched all of DJH, DH, and DTNG. She's been watching season 8 on her own while I'm at school but she doesn't really like it.

My family know about my Degrassi obsession, and they get slightly exasperated with me constantly watching my DJH/DH DVDs... oh, and my sister gets mad at me whenever I download DTNG episodes.
