So what'd people think of Scott/Kathleen? I'm always interested in what people think about Kathleen. Personally, I thought it was well-done.

There's something to be said for picking the least sympathetic character on the show for that storyline. Other than the fact that the guy who played Scott looked like he was in his mid-40's, it was okay.

Smooth change of topic Nikki!

Apart from Byrd Dickens looking much older than his character, I thought that the storyline played out quite well. For a first boyfriend, it was very believable that Kathleen convinced herself that Scott loved her, even though to everyone else it was obvious that he didn't - even if he didn't hit her.

My only qualm about it, is that I was hoping that Luke would redeem himself from the Shane/acid trip incident in helping Kathleen - sadly, he didn't

Yeah. The fact that Scott (who I agree looked more like a teacher than a student) was her first boyfriend really helped me buy the storyline. I knew so many girls that got caught up in dating the upperclassmen, no matter how bad they treated them. Of course, they weren't abusive relationships. Kathleen got on my last nerve, but man did the writers make me feel bad for her whenever they spotlighted her interactions with her mom or Scott.

Hmmm, Luke. Yeah, I was expecting more on his part, too. I guess I expected him to pull a Jimmy in DDIO, or even ask Kathleen what was bothering her. But they weren't close enough, I guess.

You guys can go back to discuss Jaitlin. I was just like hmmm, I wonder who we haven't talked about.

my perspective on scott and kathleen. i too agree he looks so old i know they wanted someone who looked lieka senior but come on he looked way past that.
I could see kathleen taking that srt of stuff liek abuse she took verbal abuse from her drunkmother and keptit to herself so it was much the same so i wasnt surprised that she still felt she loved him.

i would have though that someone would have seen it happen though ..aroudn the playground etc.

And yick he was cute when he was younger but i didnt so much liek cool yick....it was good he had a ice friendship with luke who i am a fan of but he was a bit boring because he was too cool to do anything.

Yeah, I liked younger Yick too. I mean, I understand him becoming someone else later, but he was so adorable.

The Scott and Kathleen storyline was well done, and it's easy to understand Kathleen - perfectionist, overly-proud Kathleen who never had good things happen - not wanting to leave Scott or tell anyone about the abuse. I too expected Luke to do something to help her - what I actually expected was for him to come in and see Scott beating her up, and do something. I hadn't actually seen the whole "Shane and the acid trip" thing when I saw that episode, however.

I liked Yick back in the first two seasons. He was kinda adorable back then. Then he got "cool" ie. weird.

From memory, Siluck is significantly younger (okay, like 2 years) than most of the cast, that could explain his adorableness
