School is back in session at Degrassi after a heartbreaking conclusion to summer with the death of Adam Torres (Jordan Todosey). When we left off, the character who was struggling the hardest was Adam’s brother Drew, and although he’ll still be healing from the loss of his brother, it’s a new school year, and time to try and step up to responsibility. In fact, according to Torres-portrayer Luke Bilyk, this season will be more about Drew trying to prove himself to everyone. “One of the most interesting things about Drew’s outcome after having his brother die is that he’s not necessarily sad,” Bilyk said to TV Guide Canada during a recent interview. “He definitely goes through an emotional rollercoaster, but he’s trying to become a better man, and really prove to people that he can be the president and he can really become a man.” For Drew, the real struggle will be figuring out the difference between making himself happy versus making the people happy as president. Welcome to politics, Torres. “He comes to grip with the fact that he can’t always please himself, he has to please others,” Bilyk says. “And that becomes a very big emotional struggle for him over the next couple of episodes.”

From someone who used to hate Drew, I now love him a lot. He's one of my absolute favorite characters and his plots are always my favorites.

Happy belated birthday to Luke!

I've been posting in the Katie/Drew thread about Hellions since Chloe and Luke are reunited again but if you've missed the news it's a zombie flick directed by Bruce McDonald (who has worked on the Degras a bit). Chloe plays pregnant teen Dora and Luke is her boyfriend Jace. Excited for this!



I'm on Luke's IMDB right now and it seems his other projects are:

Anyone heard anything about these? Are they on youtube or being featured in any festivals?

I guess if a movie lasts more than a half hour they don't want Luke. Unless it's Bruce McDonald.

Thanks for posting that, and yeah, I'm with you on the movie he's doing with Chloe.

Oh and as someone who's not always been his biggest fan, I have to say I've actually find myself liking Drew much more often than not this season.

And his relationship with Dallas is gold.

I have to admit that I wasn't impressed with Drew's crying when he found out Adam passed (it might have been the slo-mo). This is much improved:
