I think that if Holly J and Sav aren't getting much screen time and any real development now that it isn't going to happen either in 2011 or in Season 11 because I think that they will be upstaged by some other younger, opposites attracts couple even if it isn't Fiona/Adam and Eli and Clare and that it won't matter as much for Holly J because the writers and the powers that be will put her on-screen with other characters and other storylines, It's hard to take Sav seriously on any level for me because the writers don't care enough about him to develop him and this is after over three years on the show. I don't think I will ever understand why he's still on the show from a writer's prospective and the actor's prospective because there are characters who just arrived this season who've been given more to do than he has in over three years.

I hope we don't have to see them in season 11. They shoved Jane, Danny, Peter and the rest of the most recent seniors out the door very quickly. However, they probably will decide to keep them around longer. If they do, I truly hope they don't show HJ denying herself life to stay with Sav. Because as a grown woman, that's exactly what she will be doing. She's basically chaining herself to a tree in the middle of the forest. That's not something she would have ever done before.

This show has a long history of shoving the seniors in the background and out the door quickly and I even go back to Season 7 where we hardly saw most of Spinner, Manny and Emma's group during senior year and these were the people most people started watching the show for. To me even then this show was too focused on the younger kids and didn't give most of those seniors the storylines and screen time that they deserved. This show for whatever reason really doesn't make it worthwhile for almost anyone regardless of who they are and how popular that they may be with the viewers to actually stay on the show for their entire senior year, I think that Sav needs to get a life outside of just being someone's boyfriend. I also hope that Holly J isn't forced to deny herself her own life and dreams because of Sav and his complete lack of character development and I also couldn't see her doing anything like that before. However and unfortunately this is senior year when instead of all that work and effort paying off for the future that everything seems to fall apart during senior year for any senior who's still there in some capacity with very few exceptions.

I also think that Sav had it worse than it just being about things falling apart during senior year because he was never really developed or given much of a personality or anything constructive to do and all being with Holly J does is reinforce everything that is wrong with him and also what a pointless character he is which is disappointing because there were opportunities to develop his character outside of being someone's boyfriend but it was never really explored and instead just dropped and dropped quickly and by the time that this was done it was too late for most people to want to get invested in his character and storylines especially after seeing how the seniors are normally on the back burner regardless of who they are and how popular they are with viewers.

I think that Holly J and Sav would be a little easier to deal with if Holly J actually had to deal with any real consequences from her actions. I never got the impression that Holly J actually felt guilty about having slept with Declan because after "Love Lockdown" Sav goes M.I.A. until "Halo" and Holly J is still on screen a lot without him and Sav seemed to be completely out of sight completely out of mind for Holly J. She also spread a rumor about Sav and Anya expecting a baby and she never thought about Sav's feelings. All she was concerned about was the fact that he was in the way of her being student council president and in the she still got what she wanted because she's still the one doing all the work for student council and I often forget that she's not student council president anymore and taking student council away from her wouldn't affect her negatively it would be Sav who would be left with nothing to do in my opinion not Holly J.

I think the main reason I can't stand this pairing is because it's so obvious they're not on the same page. Their feelings aren't mutual. HJ only agrees to matters in the relationship after Sav does. If they actually cared about each other, maybe I wouldn't find their status so annoying and unnecessary. They can do without each other and I don't understand what's romantic about that.

Exactly. It's so obvious she still has strong feelings for Declan, but she is just afraid right now of possibly getting hurt again, so she's holding onto Sav. Which still doesn't make much sense if you think about it because Sav is known hurting girls he dates.

I also think that it's obvious that they are not on the same page and nothing is really done about it one way or the other. I have never thought that they actually cared about each other and yes, I agree that their feelings aren't mutual and everything is really all about Holly J all the time and he's treated as if he's invisible and doesn't really matter in this storyline or any storyline for that matter. I also think that there's just nothing romantic or even close to endearing about this couple and Sav's really in another pointless relationship storyline and so he's basically in the same position that's he been in the last three years only now he's completely overshadowed by Holly J and so I really don't see how this storyline helps either of them, but especially Sav.

Okay, I have genuinely tried to like this pairing. I really have. But I just don't understand the point of it. I mean, really, what were the writers thinking when they threw this mess together?

First of all, I mean, it's clear to me that with Savvy J, they're trying to pull another Spinner/Emma thing, you know? In order to wrap up their time on the show with a nice little bow, they're going to put these two characters together, who've barely interacted before this season, to give them a "happy ending", because they both apparently need someone to be endgame with. I mean, it's obviously not as ridiculous as Spinner/Emma. Savvy J have been together for the majority of the season and it's not like they got married in Vegas after a drunken night of partying. But still, it's so freakin' random. They have absolutely nothing in common with each other beside the fact that they're both in student council. So, is that all they talk about when they're together?

Not to mention the thing that annoys me the most, which is that it's completely unrealistic to have Sav hook up with the girl who played a hand in manipulating him into thinking he's a teen dad just so she could win the school election. I mean, it's not even like she apologized. I don't know about anyone else, but I would never date someone after that.

Sav is clearly there to simply be an accessory to Holly J's character. They haven't even given Sav any issues of his own since I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself. Even in the plot coming up with him and Alli, it's obvious that it's just another storyline that's going to focus on another character instead of him (aka Alli). I mean, I think Sav's a nice guy, but that's really all his character's got going for him. Holly J is ten times as three-dimensional, and really, I hate that she's getting screen time only when she's with Sav now. The whole thing bothers me. I mean, both of them are living in this la-la fantasy world where they have zero problems. The only issues in this relationship were Declan in the beginning, who Holly J seemed to get over a little too quickly in my opinion, and the whole Jenna thing, but it was obvious from the beginning that Jenna didn't even have a chance with Sav, so...I didn't really consider it conflict. At least the other couples on the show this season (even if I don't like most of them) had serious problems in their relationships and it hasn't been smooth sailing with them. I feel like with Sav/Holly J...the whole thing is just too simple. I mean, it's obvious where their whole storyline is going to end up. They'll angst for a little at the end of next season's Boiling Point about whether or not they should stay together, because "like, OMG, I totally wasn't expecting to actually fall for you and want a serious relationship, but now I do and I want to continue this mess of a relationship into college", and then they'll decide to stay together and the whole thing will probably end in some ridiculously cheesy, Hollywood movie, "inspirational" kiss scene. Unless they both come to their senses, surprise us all, and actually do what they said they were going to do and break up after graduation. But I think that's too much to hope for at this point.

I just feel like this is one of those couples that Degrassi is famous for, where they randomly pick two people and shove them together. I usually don't believe in joining Anti threads, but I have to make an exception this time.

I think Sav is the one who's only on screen with Holly J or otherwise he literally isn't on screen and everyone knows full well that when he is on-screen that it will be about someone else and their issues and not Sav's. Holly J at least can be on screen without Sav whereas Sav is really left with no choice but to stay with Holly J no matter what she does just for the sake of of getting screen time which in this case isn't much for Sav. The other opposites attracts couples and the other younger couples actually get some build up and some actual issues to deal with but, I think that in the eyes of writers and the powers that be that Sav is for whatever reason not good enough to have his own storyline and not be in a relationship because we've all seen him in a relationship and he literally doesn't know what to do with himself if he's not dating someone. I think that if Holly J and Sav can barely get any screen time much less development not I don't know how in the world they will get more screen time next season when they will most likely just be completely upstaged by the younger, current couples and that's not even including any new characters that may be coming in Season 11. I cannot wait to see Sav become valedictorian of his class when Holly J is really the one who worked hard and is so much more deserving than Sav would be. I also cannot wait for Holly J to give up on Yale because she wants to stay with Sav and that's really out-of-character for her but, I see a real possibilty of that happening even if everyone knows that this couple is just doomed to be put on the back burner and to me they are already on the back burner and to me it's beyond the two of them being seniors.

I think that a real problem is the fact that Sav is given the worst dialogue and he isn't helped by the fact that Holly J has been given actual storylines and character development over the last three years and Sav has been given next to nothing to do in those same three years. Holly J can and does do circles around Sav and he really has the same problems that Anya has not surprisingly in that Sav never really got much of a chance to explore life on his own and to actually do things that he is actually interested in and no one ever told him to "Get A Life Outside Of The One With Anya" like she was told by both Jane and Holly J ironically in "Wanna Be Starting Something." I don't think that these two have much to actually talk about because there are no real problems in their relationship especially in comparison to the other current relationships and they have nothing in common and let's be honest Sav's not interested in being president of student council, he only ran because his parents thought it would help him on his college/university applications. Even in the student council storyline it's really all about Holly J and Sav just looks completely awkward and completely in over his head and so I don't see how that makes him look good or gives him something constructive to do.

Well, Sav had some scenes in the beginning of the Boiling Point that didn't include Holly J, but now, yeah, she's really all he has to give him plots besides Alli. And yes, Holly J could easily be a stand-alone character if the writers let her, unlike Sav, because, as you said, she doesn't need Sav to have a plot on the show. But I feel like the writers aren't doing that with her. They're just letting this relationship hold her character back.

Those scenes and whatever plotlines that were supposed to there with Sav were just dropped and dropped quickly and I think for many people it was just too little and too late for Sav to finally get some attention on his own. I think that looking back that the that those scenes with Sav in the beginning of this season just meant nothing but, I am not surprised that both Sav and Anya got their storylines dropped and or changed quickly because I don't think that the writers and the powers cared all that much for either Sav or Anya separately or together and they are really just extensions of each other and never really going to be given much to do on their own. I think that yes, this storyline is holding Holly J back but because she's on-screen a lot without Sav even now and has people to actually interact with like Fiona so Holly J does and has had time on-screen without Sav and in fact Sav seems to be completely out of sight and completely out of mind for Holly J and the writers and powers that be. I think that some of this Holly J only screen time where she was with other characters who aren't Sav could've easily been about the two of them but, it isn't and it again reinforced that the writers and the powers that be prefer Holly J alone over anything to do with Sav and their relationship and that someone who's part of the "Degrassi" powers that be isn't interested in Sav alone or with Holly J and I mean where was Sav between "Love Lockdown" and "Halo?" Holly J didn't go completely M.I.A. like that it was just Sav. Sav really doesn't have anyone to interact with outside of his family and even there Alli is the person that the writers are concerned about it's not and won't ever be about Sav.

In my opinion Sav is bringing Holly J down but, in reality he would bring anyone he was dating down because Sav was never important enough to the writers and the powers that be to actually give anything constructive to do or say and by the time it started to happen this season it was too little, too late. The the writers and the powers that be made it so obvious that they were concerned about and wanted to give their time and energy to the younger kids and when Sav was one of the younger kids it was never really about him and instead about others around him and so I thought that it would be a hard sell to say the least to make anything about him now because even if it was I don't think it would be something that would be sincerely invested in by the writers and the powers that be and let's be honest they have never hidden that fact. I can't support a ship where it's all about one person all the time and the other person is just written like a complete after thought.

I just don't understand how this ship is popular when it stunts the already minimal growth of one of the characters in the pairing. This relationship prevents any development for Sav because it's obvious that the whole thing is about Holly J. I mean, it would be okay if they gave Sav his own issues and plots separate to the relationship, but they never show Sav doing his own thing. He's always simply a part of someone else's plot, and now that he's dating another girl, it's just one more character for him to be an accessory to. He has no excuse, because he's been on this show for three seasons. He should have been given something to do by now.

Same thing with Anya. It's obvious that the doctor she's hooking up with is going to be this relationship Sue with no personality. He's good-looking, successful...and that's it. The only purpose he's going to serve is to be her boyfriend. The only thing that's going to be interesting about it is the fact that he's so much older than her. I mean, even her mom's cancer is going to be pushed to the side in favor of this Mr. O/Paige rehash.

I'm just disappointed that Holly J's screen time is being wasted on this relationship when she could have other storylines. It's her senior year. The character needs to go out with a bang. This is a complete disservice to her.

I think part of the reason the seniors aren't getting the attention they deserve, and part of the reason some of them, like Anya and Sav, still aren't getting the last minute development they need to make them engaging characters, is because we have all these younger new characters. But I don't think they should really be blamed, because even if they weren't there, I have a feeling the writers would still ignore the seniors. Although, to be fair, both Fiona and Holly J have both gotten a large amount of screen time.

I agree completely I feel sorry for him really, he's been treated badly by people he cares about, but is given so little screen time that I find it hard to relate to him or believe he cares enough
