| I know. I can't stay interested when those characters are on my screen. Maybe if they introduced new characters that were younger, like grade 7-8-9, then I might be interested. Because that's one of the reasons that we love this cast so much...we've seen them grow up. | I know...and all she does is name drop her sister. And none of the new characters are attractive, in my opinion..None of the Lakehurst kids. Annnnd, i'm shallow. | I'm choosing to look at this in a positive light. I think the writers don't want the Sean/Emma relationship to get stale, so they are attempting to throw some kinks into it to challenge it (and us). If they let them stay together all happy, the relationship would become boring. I see them breaking them up just for the angst alone, and then reuniting them yet again. I know how people (including myself) hate when OTH is brought into other fandom's conversation--but this is a valid point. The writers of OTH obviously wanted to keep the Lucas/Peyton relationship in the fore-front of Season 5. But they knew that if they kept them together while those 4 years passed, what kind of decent storyline would they have been able to come up with to keep them together and keep people interested? Nothing. Therefore, break them up and basically do a repeat of what happened at the end of Season 4. It's all strategic. I see them doing this with Sean/Emma as well. Miriam even made the comment in the 101s that she "could see Sean and Emma getting back together"... so obviously something happens after "Hungry Eyes" that signifies a break-up. | All very true. The thing that annoys me about the ep is that Damien wasn't NEEDED. they could have gotten the same end result without him. It seems as though every storyline with Emma has to involve a guy.. and if she has a boyfriend at the time the storyline shakes that up. I hope Miriam misspoke in her 101, I honestly do.. because on/off couples pique my interest for awhile, but soon I just stop rooting for the couple. What's the point, the writers will just rip them apart anyway. Not saying that's going to happen with Sean&Emma, I've been a fan far too long and adore them far too much. But it's getting old. Especially if Sean makes an appearance this season. If he does, and he & Emma aren't together, or they break up, I will just feel cheated. Sure, Eman fans got a lot in Season 6.. but we were also cheated out of a lot of happy, sweet moments. Sure, we got all the dramatic moments.. but we never got an "I love you", we never got a sweet goodbye, we never got to see HOW exactly they came to the decision to stay together when Sean left to the army, we never even got to see the moments/discussions leading up to their 'first time'. Everything about Emma & Sean lately has been inferred, offscreen, or something else. Sorry to be such a downer, but last night's episode just crushed me, no matter how positive I'm trying to stay  I wish the people who post questions and get answers from Exec could get us something to look forward to, cuz I'm not seeing too much right now!  | |||
