Emma is an independent thinker and compassionate girl, who can also be judgmental and stubborn.
Her clear sense of what's 'right' often leads her into trouble. She has the courage and conviction to fight
for what she believes in too. She has dealt with her mom's marriage to Snake, finding her long-lost father and
coping with Snake's leukemia. Best friends with Manny since grade school, high school has tested their friendship,
but they're still there for each other. Emma has dealt with her mom's marriage, finding her real father,
coping with Snake's leukemia, being held at gunpoint, an eating disorder, the death of a loved one and a
pregnancy scare, but she's still standing, beautiful as ever.

Sean, the tough kid from the wrong side of town, showed his inner self to Emma, who found him to be
smart and sensitive, and embarking on a long relationship with her. Then he threw it all away when he met up
with Jay, and followed his theiving ways. He soon got bored with that, pulled his act together, he turned over
a new leaf. When Rick decided to shoot up the school, and literally took aim at Emma, Sean put his life on
the line. Rick wound up dead, and when Sean finally came to grips with what happened, he decided the best place
to be was with his parents, away from Degrassi. His return, a year later, brought a happier Sean back to Degrassi. His dream to open
Cameron's Custom Cars has led him to enlist, to gain the finance and training that he needs to build his life in Degrassi.

Emma: How can I resist?

First dates, first kisses, first loves. Emma and Sean have been through it all together. The highs were very high, and the lows were angsty as hell. Emma fell
for older bad boy Sean the first time she saw him, back in grade seven. After saving him from trouble by convincing him to dance with her rather than beat on
Jimmy, they began a sweet relationship that appeared to falter on their first date, but Sean wasn't easily deterred. Their first relationship ended when Sean
accidentally pushed Emma during a fight with Jimmy and broke her heart. They weren't apart for long though, as they reunited at Spike and Snake's wedding, sharing
a dance and their first kiss. Sean supported her crusades, regardless of how crazy they were, and Emma helped him to realise that he didn't have to turn out like
his alcoholic parents. They split, apparently for the final time, when Sean feels neglected by Emma, whose life is full thanks to baby Jack and Snake's illness.
Their split was acrimonious, and Emma tries to make Sean pay for breaking her heart. Landing him with multiple weekend detentions, Emma figures that they're now even.

A year later, Emma befriends loner Rick, who mistakes Emma's friendship for love. Pushed too far by everyone, Rick brings a gun to school and aims it straight at Emma.
Sean tries to lead her away, but Rick becomes more unstable. Terrified, Sean nonetheless steps between the gun and Emma, and attempts to talk Rick down. Rick ultimately
raises the gun to Emma once more, and Sean makes a grab for it, and in the struggle, it goes off. Rick dies, and Sean becomes a hero. Unable to deal with what happened,
Sean kidnaps Emma, Ellie and Jay to go home to Wasaga Beach. Sean apologies to Emma for everything, and she brushes their bad history aside, already forgotten. Emma proves
over and over that she understands Sean better than anyone, and she doesn't try to stop him when he decides to stay in Wasaga. Emma keeps her gaze on Sean as the car pulls
away and Sean struggles with tears.

A year passes, and after a secret rendezvous with Jay and overcoming an eating disorder, Emma is thrilled to see Sean back in Degrassi. Emma's boyfriend isn't so happy. Sean
and Emma reconnect, as if no time had passed at all, and they eventually give in to their desires. Sean and Peter end up in a street race over Emma, ending when Sean
accidentally knocks a man down. He runs to Emma, who tells him that he needs to turn himself in. Sean struggles in jail, but puts on a brave face for Emma. She gets him
a lawyer, and admits to Manny that Sean is in her heart. She breaks up with Peter before reuniting with Sean. When he's released from jail, Sean and Emma enjoy their time
together, before Jay and Emma's secret comes out. Sean gets mad and leaves, but memories of Emma lead him back to her, and he tells her that he wants to get to know her
again. Together, they deal with the death of JT, a sexual relationship, and a pregnancy scare. Still together, Sean is heading off to the army to fulfil his dream of opening
his own car shop, while Emma looks forward to college.
