But I don't think drug use should be the default for insecurity. A lot of things were going right for Peter before he went to the party. He was going to Paris with Mia so he wasn't necessarily being left. His music's featured in a new movie. He has this great apartment. They didn't mention his dad or his parents at all until he called his mother. I understand what people are saying about his past, but none of his parental issues were addressed in this episode. Why not? Yeah, he mentioned his girlfriends leaving, but what about his dad? I found that very problematic and not at all satisfying. Honestly, it felt like Peter didn't have much to lose. He's got this great life a lot of other kids don't have. Craig was screwing up his career and his relationship and his friendship. But it wasn't really his ep anyway. Paige was stressed over her college interview. Spinner was using it for medicinal purposes. So I didn't feel that sympathetic when Peter willingly chose to partake of the party favours because he basically did have everything at the time.

Eh, I like Peter overall, but I just didn't care.

It's much different than the "What's It feel Like To Be A Ghost?" thread when everyone was debating what day Craig became an addict so Cranny or Crellie would look better.
Don't forget that whole dinner table insult ordeal. I thought men would die during that debate.

I think the immediate reaction to being embarrassed at the schmoozefest just overrode all the good things going for him. And yeah, he was going to Paris with Mia, but Mia was already used to schmoozefests and the like and if Peter was going to Paris with her, he would stick out like a sore thumb.

As for how well his life was going, well before he got his pad he was getting all these cool toys and gadgets and cars and dating pretty girls and he was still his same old creepy Scott Peterson self, so at the end of the day I don't think he's too motivated by material possessions in terms of personal happiness. As for his great life and why he would want to ruin it with drugs, lots of people with great lives partake in drug usage so I don't really think it's that much of a stretch for the plot.

The plot also didn't need any reference to his parental situation, maybe it would've been helpful for new viewers but we're already familiar to his insecurities and flaky parents.

I saw the premiere. it was ok. It was mediocre. I would have never thought that peter would ever have a premeire.

It was dumb and contrived that Peter just randomly takes drugs from some girl at a party.

jenna is annoying.

I still don't care about Connor, Clare, or KC.

I liked the Riley and peter stuff.

I give the episdoe a C-

I think Peter has always been insecure. It's easier for him to be a jerk than actually show that he feels neglected by his family and thinks that everyone will probably leave him.
I agree Peter was stupid... but i also agree with Nicole that his insecurity about being left behind by everyone he loves... I wish that they didnt rush through it in one episode though. But on the upside LOVED the Piley interaction... And on a side note i am disappointed that both Sarah B-T and Marc Donato are gone... While Derek was a jerk i was hoping that hed have redemption and that Liberty would get a good storyline...
