Exactly. I would even go for them horsing around and he accidently killed her, but a car accident is so cliche and it's not exactly a provacative topic people die in crashes all the time

After the whole "Clara Edwins" thing (subtle, Eli. Real subtle.) I can't help but think that Eli's daydream would be a little more... risque. It's probably feature a seductive Clare wearing all leather, carrying a whip and talking in a sultry voice.

Just sayin'.

I hope it's not a daydream though. I will be VERY upset if it is, and besides, that kiss is just way too passionate.

I'd go for any type of accident. Just one where there was enough justification for him to feel like it was his fault. Completely. I agree a car crash wouldn't exactly be much of a "dark past". But idk, being the driver in a crash that resulted in the death of someone you care about...that's gotta have a major effect on your life. I'm just saying it's plausible. Wouldn't be the most intense thing ever. But it would still make sense.
