Damn it Stephen Stohn. It was supposed to be an instagram link. I dunno. Here's the twitter source: https://twitter.com/stephenstohn/sta...27550867374080

So what is the official count of the episodes next season?

Allegedly 28 episodes, though it's not official yet. It seems that episodes 23-24 are called "Finally" and will probably feature the seniors graduating.

The 28 episode thing came from a report when Epitome was sold. I'm a little dubious of that, though, because if Finally is the graduation episodes, then it's a little hard for me to buy them returning from a hiatus just to film four more episodes. That's essentially just one filming block for the way they do things now.

Jacob Neayem is apparently involved in Open Heart as well as Stohn listed his Twitter account as one of those to follow in his Open Heart blitz.

Just make it a spin off about Jake and Mo and call it a day. Right?

Oh and I'm in agreement with my co-Mod about waiting to start a specific thread for the show until around the time the show debuts.

Finally, that channel couldn't just live on Victorious, iCarly, and Big Time Rush alone.

No Emmy for Degrassi this year, although at least they didn't lose to Linda Ellerbee this time around. Nope, instead they lost to a documentary about a grief camp for kids who've lost loved ones. Yeah, Degrassi (or Good Luck Charlie or Dog with a Blog) never had a shot.

^ yeah this category is weird all of the shows nominated are so different it's hard to understand why they're all in the same category. oh well it was nice to see Linda & Stephen plus the cast at the Emmy's. Looks like they had fun!

A Flashpoint exec tweeted this today. And there is a Degrassi mention! Yay for Canadian TV. (not Canadian but I have said my fair share of "I'm sorry" today)

Should that be "I'm sorree?" Cool clip. Thanks for posting.

Rolling Stone listed Degrassi as the 14th best school TV show (no comment on what's 13th).

Quote:
Less a show than an institution, the Degrassi franchise has existed in one form or another for nearly four decades. (The original show, The Kids of Degrassi Street, started airing in 1979; the latest, formerly titled Degrassi: The Next Generation, dropped the subtitle in 2010.) This Canadian import has a soap-opera structure of interlocking storylines and a sprawling, constantly evolving cast. It's more like an actual school than any other show: Many people pass its doors at one time or another, some go on to great things (Drake will always be seen as Jimmy to many fans), and its mere existence is a comforting sign that even though our time in any given place ends, there's a continuity of experience that connects us.

The Degrassi video is due Sep 30th, so plan your calendars accordingly.

And one way you can kill six minutes of your time as you wait for that is to watch the blooper reel for Season 13.

I'm sure you have all seen the season 14 gallery promo pics by now.

Is this the grade 12s? I can't remember what grade Becky is in. I'd be sad to see her go but if it is the grade 12s I am overjoyed that Jack isn't there and she will be around for season 15!

In other news, Sly Cad (produced by Paula, Chloe is an actor, maybe more Degrassians are involved) is premiering at the Oaxaca Film Fest. Which means most of us will still be waiting to see it. It looks like Billy the Kid (Ricardo is Billy) is also part of the line up.

I'm having a debate in my head about whether Degrassi deserves this award. It's a good show, but other shows probably deserve it more. i.e. OITNB (which isn't a drama, but still), and whatever show that was that had a woman who's intersex. Regardless, Degrassi does a good job still. Imogen and Miles are interesting at that they don't put a label on their sexuality, but I don't think we've ever actually had a character call themselves bisexual before.
