How did you start acting?

My cousin, through whom I learned that acting was a profession. He was the funniest, most charismatic person I’d ever met; like a big brother. He got me a meeting with his agent and then a year later, I booked my first job for an Xbox campaign. I used to play with action figures, making up huge battle scenes to entertain myself with, sometimes for hours. My first gig on set reminded me of that feeling, except now I was the action figure: big win for 12-year old me.

Why do you act?

Because it’s my favourite job. I love interpreting life in moments. I find stories offer such encompassing reflections of our existence. There’s always insight to be drawn from the seemingly endless combinations of events, characters, themes and settings we create or depict. Acting is the piece I feel most engaged contributing towards.

What inspires you?

My family, my friends, people I know of, have met or even heard about. My go-to values are learning, listening, respect, honesty, hard work and overcoming. I remind myself to keep redefining and exploring those things while appreciating how I got here.

Where can people catch you next?

Season 2 of ‘Anne with an E’ is out on CBC Gem and coming to Netflix. I’m currently shooting season 3. This year, I was honoured and grateful to receive 2 nominations for this role. Season 2 of Pure airs in May on WGNAmerica then later this year on Hulu and Super Channel.⠀

What does art mean to you?

My experience is that I feel free when I’m acting and yet connected to what’s around me. Although the process is constantly ebbing and flowing, art is a discussion I want to remain part of.

When you think about that little twerp we saw when we first met Danny to who Dalmar is now seventeen years later as he just celebrated his 31st birthday on Saturday it's pretty damn amazing.

Dalmar has himself a role in Luckiest Girl Alive, starring Mila Kunis and opening in select theaters on September 30th before hitting Netflix on October 7th.

In the It's small Degrassi related world that's Becky Ablack (aka Ray's sister) with Dalmar in one of those pics. Some more pics from that premiere. He took his mom, who presumably celebrated his 32nd birthday, which was Sunday.

Dalmar at a rock musical premiere that Jake Epstein's sister is in. Sara Waisglass was also in the audience. I assume Jake was...somewhere, maybe. Maybe not there. Maybe in an academy.
