I liked their friendship a lot too. Craig did show up at Sean's in GITM, so that was cool. I'm guessing they remained friends even though there was a drift in Season 3.

I have my theories as to why they went adrift. A lot of season 3 would've been more awkward if they were in the same scenes, more specifically SISOSIG, but also potentially the Candy Bandits and Ellie. (Actually, come to think of it, Craig was in GG, so the Candy Bandits weren't any more awkward.)

Oh, there are a few Sean/Craig fanfics on FFN if anyone's interested:

23 Rolls of Film -- What if Sean and Craig actually did run away together? Yaoi.
Innocence -- Sean thinks back on his friendship with Craig. Shonen ai.
High Wire -- Post-VC, Ashley turns to an old friend for help with Craig.

There are a few others, but I can't remember the titles. One is actually set during TSS and Sean's racing to find Rick because he remembers that look in Rick's eyes from the whole train incident with Craig.

The sean/craig relaionship the writers prob thought fit more with the emma/manny thing back in s2, with ash and stuff, thigns get complicated. tey could get revisited this season, hmm...

Well, Sean and Manny both ended up dumping Emma in s3. Things get more complicated post-TOM; Ashley hated Craig, but Sean liked Ellie.

I would love it if their friendship got revisited. It would be awsome to see Cranny and Seamma all hanging out, double dating and stuff. Awwww.

well, technically sean/craig also matched with ellie/ash so yeah.
I wouldn't mind if we saw sean and craig hanging out again next season. Then again, it would be interesting to see what happens with Ellie's possible ongoing crush on craig next season and the aftermath of the way sean approached ellie in the webisode so hmm.

yeah but by the time sellie happened, ash hated craig, by the time sellie ended crash happened, and if crash happened again, ellie will be crushing on craig plus eman and that tattoo... it wouldn't work.

okay and in season 2 it's not like Cranny actually even happened, they went on a date that made Craig realize he didn't actually like her and he told her so.
Either way, it's not like their friendship had anything to do with any of the girls anyway. And it would likely turn out the same way if they were friends again this season.

actually it did, like in tidbits in GJWHF, WDC and even TMBA. and cranny were still cool after TMBA (WW).

In TANE it appeared like Craig, Sean, and Ashley were hanging out. Sean, Ashley, and Emma were at Craig's dad's funeral. Skipping over some drama...But then in AILMH, Ashley is at the housewarming party for Sellie but there's no Craig. And we know Craig is cool with Sean because of GITM. That was kind of odd - but there are odd moments like that in the show where you wonder hmmm, where's so and so.

So basically, everyone is linked to everyone at some point. You need a scorecard or diagram for this show.

Imagine having Marco at a party with Jay and Alex.

The writers don't do "couple plus one" cliques very long. Marco, Ashley, and Ellie are the only long-term one I can think of, which lasted longer than Marco and Ellie as a couple did.

Well, not everyone. (Ashley and Alex have yet to have a scene together.) Sean and Liberty did, though.
