Jajube Mandiela first appeared as Chantay Black in season 4, back when Chantay was nothing more than Darcy's
sidekick and barely a blip on the Degrassi radar. Now she's the school's reigning queen bee and head cheerleader
who spouts some of Degrassi's greatest and most memorable one-liners. She tells other characters the harsh truth
when they don't want to hear it, and her perpetual honesty policy allows her to maintain friendships with everyone.
It's time to show Chantay the appreciation she deserves!

She's just becoming more likeable the less they try to make her a relevant character. In season 8 when she kicked HJ off of Spirit Squad she talked all about being a team player. She dropped Paige intentionally-real team player.

Now she's just funny and sassy, and I love it.

I forgot about that. One of these days I will have to marathon the entire series from start to finish without taking any breaks so I stop forgetting everything. But yes! She cracks me up.

I'm confused. I can't tell if I'm surprised she didn't have a thread already or not.

Anyway you can add me. I never thought I'd call myself a fan but Chantay has shown she's the only one on this show with common sense these days. She's also the only one who rivals Adam and Eli for awesome one liners this season. The only thing that bothers me is that we haven't seen any Chantay/Dave this season. I love them.

I kinda love that her OP is gorgeous while characters who actually get plots have plain nothingness OPs.

oh and I love her new hair. LOVE it.

Yeah it's been really slow today, the whole site crashed on me when I was in the midst of putting this thread together. But just so you know...

is slow a lot. It was down for 3 straight days a few weeks ago. So I'll take slowness over that.

I also wonder why there's no thread for Chantay. After finally getting access to FF (I thought my work comp blocked this site), I'm quite surprised to find a Chantay appreciation thread (very beautiful OP, Christine. The colours are beautiful). There goes my theory that nobody cares about her (if you read the Jessica/Jenna appreciation thread) lol

I wouldn't call myself a fan yet, but I'm glad Chantay has more lines and telling it like it is to anyone and not walking on eggshells b/c they're her friends, family members, etc.

Don't add me to the list yet. I hope I can still post here b/c I love her one-liners.

God, that was so frustrating. I wasn't even quite as active here as I've been the past couple weeks, and if

were to go down say this week with the Boiling Point finale, I would seriously flip my ****.

Love the pic! I love how Chantay has some connection to pretty much every character G1 and G2. Well, I guess Peter too, but she's been around even longer.

I'm thinking that these FF glitches could be problematic. I've only had an account for two days and I a. Had a dream about it and b. found myself thinking about ships during all hours of the day. Three days straight without access would probably drive me crazy. (good time to do homework, though)
