This is the Bad Touch thread, a hangout for those who dislike the pairing of Paige and Mr. Oleander. Matt Oleander brought out the worst in Paige, whereas Paige brought out...well, there wasn't much to Mr. Oleander anyway.

8. Because asking Marco to put them together when Matt's not even in the database. Wow, how pathetic, I mean romantic.
9. Because hasn't she already learned her lesson about older men?
10. Because for the umpteenth time, he's a teacher!
11. Because getting involved with the mob, even for just a fake ID, is a Bad Idea.
12. For using that lame excuse saying that Dylan/Marco were the same age gap when Dylan is not Marco's teacher
13. Because Lolita, while a classic, is still sick.

I try to avoid the "anti" threads, but if there's one that I could really get involved with, this is it. Everything about it just doesn't sit right with me, and the fact they gave it so much air time really ticks me off. If you've got a list going, you can add me to it.

The entirety of Patt is . . . I mean, if we ignore the age difference, which is at least 4 or 5 years, he's a teacher. And there's like one really romantic scene for them, in ML where he willingly gives up teaching so she doesn't fail.

In the end, student-teacher sex was a lot more fun when it consisted of Emma's little rumors and JT's pathetic crush on Hatzilakos. (And you just know Toby and Sean were just going along with JT and not really paying attention.)

That scene with them on the bench at the end of ML just makes my stomach turn. Ugh.

The thing is, while I think would have hated any teacher/student variation couple Degrassi threw our way, this could still have been an interesting couple to watch. They should have really made him older- and maybe married with kids of his own. You know really make the stakes in this realtionship much higher for him than just getting kicked out of a teachers program at his University.

Instead they make him only a few years older, and frankly, a dud of a character. And I never got the sense he was really attracted to her until he kissed her in BatM.

This realtionship really played a major part in me being "Paiged" out by the end of the fourth season. I know a lot of people complained (and I think with good reason) about all the time given to Craig, but I'll admit that I at least found the Craig-centric plots to be compelling. The same can not be said for many of the ones involving Paige.

Yeah, I'm usually a sucker for loving the whole sneaking around relationship plots. But this just is stupid. Mr. O went from thinking she was an annoying little kid to hooking up with her? Plus, the man has no personality from what we've been shown, so it's hard to like him.

ITA that if he had been older, with a kid or something, at least that'd be interesting.

To me, I think the only part of season 4 worth anything was the shooting. I could've done without Crash and Patt.

Seriously? Patt somehow combines the worst aspects of every ship I've ever hated ever. (Well, there are worse boyfriends out there, like Rick or Dean.) Too Dawson's Creek.
