See thats one advantage of not being too hyped about the upcoming season. Its not as big of a letdown if you are already expecting to be dissapointed. I actually don't care if they do journals or not.

It would spare me from reading Craig's thoughts about Cranny. :p

They didn't even tell us to expect an update from d.tv. Well they did in like June but I don't know if they still mean that.

True. Some of my hopes were dashed for this season because of things I was expecting to carry over into the next season. The majority of the spoilers I'm iffy about or seeing as too predictable/unrealistic.

I still think Mel could come back since she did show up for the mall tour. Dylan and Kendra weren't regulars but that doesn't mean they didn't have important storylines. It ain't over til it's over.

Cranny mess in Craig's journal? Gag.

I really like the journals as I think they help fill in the blanks with many of the characters and storylines, besides

if your predictions of a not-so-long Cranny relationship becomes a reality, then you're going to want to read those break-up journals.

If it was my show, the season premiere would have been all about the return to school of Spinner and Jay, as there's just too many characters affected and it's one of the storylines that I think really did linger from last season. But, alas, it's not my show, and if it was, I wouldn't be slumming here on fan message boards.

That would've been a good idea actually, because no matter where it falls, the reactions to the return will be dynamic. Don't get me wrong. I think Manny deserves a premiere. I just think the storyline to Venus pt. 2 could've been more imaginative. A lot more imaginative.

I like the journals, except for Jimmy's. They're a labor to read for an English geek.

I think the Manny plot seems so...out there. I actually feel the same way about the school shooting. I wasn't the biggest fan of that plot (I like how it was written and everything - I just don't like the idea). The Spinner/Jay one would of been an EXCELLENT plot. If Melissa was coming back I think she could have done a good plot with her as the main focus, her returning from England and everything. I like the Spinner/Jay idea better though.

I don't think Cranny's break up journal's are going to be too bitter. I don't think their break up will be disasterous because Craig's had enough of those and it would be repeatative to do it again (lets keep one aspect about Cranny orginal

). CrAsh's had a nasty break up but Craig's journal was actually really pleasent. I think it would be repeatative for him to regret Ashley the same way he did Manny. So thats another reason why I think the writers will have Craig long for Ashley in a sense. Especially since there has been more evidence to support that Melissa will come back rather then have left the show forever.

Cranny reunion and originality? Nah.

But I think you're probably right. They'll end amicably and I don't see Craig caring for her as much as Ash, especially since we'll most likely still have Manny around kicking it with another guy in season six. I cannot see a season six without Manny so yeah, I'm really seeing a split. It'll be fun to pick out their flaws though.

I have no doubt Melissa would've had a plot if she stayed. She's one of the strongest actresses and when she's single (I can picture Crash taking a break even if she came back), the writers do like to explore her character more.

I think there were a few ways they could have done a strong Manny-centered episode for the season premiere. A more direct follow-up on the abortion, a possible eating disorder brought about by Manny trying to get that perfect figure for her acting career, that's just a couple that spring to mind. I'm sure you can think of ones that are better than that, and certainly better than

her considering plastic surgery, only to have sexy footage of her leak to the school.

Oh, well, at the very least I'm interested in seeing how they redid those few scenes in the opening.

Though I find the plot incredibly cliche, I'm still interested in Peter as a character, now and over the course of the season.

Plastic surgery could've been handled better. Though it's not the best topic, it is a hot topic. But instead, now we've got a plot taken right from about twenty different movies. I'd rather it be anything else.

Since I think Manny does have her share of insecurities, I agree with the eating disorder suggestion. Hazel's someone else I could see doing that, but she's yet to be in the top tier of characters, and sadly I'm

sure she'll get the short end of the stick this season, with Jellie in focus. Ashley didn't get that much airtime when the actual triangle went down. I actually think that whenever the writers want Cranny to happen, they'll cart off Ash for the sake of more drama. Not a coincidence that she's not around in AAO.

I noticed that too Nikki and it kinda bothers me. I mean if you can't make a couple work because of a certain character's presence then the foundation isn't all that great. I mean, they made CrAsh work pleanty of times with Manny RIGHT THERE. Put all 3 of them in a place together he goes straight to Ash. Its been done many times before.

I have no doubt that Cranny will have someone else involved with them during the season. Maybe not at the beginning, but possibly towards the end when Craig graduates. Of course, I'd like it to be Ash, but it may be Peter or another guy/girl. Nicole once said that the writers like Manny to have boy drama and I think that's going to continue. I don't envision a love story for Cranny because I still sense some resentment/pain/need for comfort.

Just curious. What were you guys' hopes for this season?

Well that article saying that Peter will be replacing Ashley could of meant replacing her as the block in the Cranny relationship.

Lets see my hopes were:

-CrAsh be tied together in some way in the end (I still think they will)
-Jiberty getting their storyline
-Cranny closure (I've always wanted this so this is nothing new)
-Go back to season 2-3 methods (don't think that one will come true)
-SPAIGE
-Jellie (I'm kinda fading from them though...they are becoming a bit overrated to me for a UC couple...I'll see in season 5 though)
-Ashley storyline

-Tobarcy

Thats all I can think of. Actually looking over my list you would think that I'd be happier with the possible outcome of next season.

Hopes-
-Mel coming back
-Daniel coming back (even if it is for one epsiode)
-Jazel staying together, I was liking Jillie but i just can't picture them anymore
-Tobarcy
-Emma and Manny both being single (or at least with decent boyfriends {even though jt,spinner,and sean were decent})
-Jimmy and Spinner friends again

So I think that Ellie does like Craig now. And judging by that clip I think he'll have some feelings returned but I don't think they'll end up getting together for whatever reason. It looks like Marco is getting jealous of the Crellie relationship just like Emma is suppose to feel left out to the Cranny relationship. I don't know what to think of that.

I don't think that there will be any cheating involved with the Cranny relationship but with everything going on I don't see how a third or fourth party won't be involved somehow.

I think with Peter, what I'm most wondering about,

besides the whole relationship dynamic between him and Hot Sauce and his father, is who is he going to hang with? I mean we know he's going to have some kind of relationship with Manny and <shudder> Emma, but every character on this show has some character from the same gender that they're friends with, and assuming they do the same with Peter, who is that going to be? JT and Toby don't seem the type. The older kids don't seem like they would take him in. Jay would probably toss him in the river. Spinner? Doesn't make much sense, but than again, who else is there?

I guess we'll find out.

Stuff I'd like to see in the new season:

An Ashley/Toby plot- yeah I know that's not gonna happen now, but it was on my original list.
Any Toby storyline period.
More with Jay and Emma- I just think there's too many dramatic possibilites with this for them to ignore.
More into the psyche of Spinner- He just might be the most interesting character on the show right now and I'm hoping they continue to explore him more. And please don't make his acceptance back into his old cilque an easy one. Nothing has ever been easy for Spin, and this shouldn't be either.
Don't be afraid to make Jimmy act like an ass just because he's in a wheelchair.
A Snake/Spike storyline.
And speaking of those two, keep their daughter away from any type of possible romantic relationship with Peter- or any other new kid.
More with the Ellie/Alex friendship.
A glimpse into the home life of Alex.
A glimpse into the home life of Jay.
A glimpse of the home life of JT.
A plot involving a character whose College/University chances are up in the air, and thus that character is facing the very real spector of having to live in the real world within the next few months.
Lastly, they've had a bunch of characters binge drinking or using drugs once and facing the consequences. Now, it's time for an addict. And this can't be done half-assed. Have it start up in the early episodes and keep it festering in the background before it blows up later in the season.

That's my list. A few will probably happen. Most probably won't.

I don't really know what my hopes for s5 were because I was a newbie to the show only last year, but I DEFINITELY agree with this:
