I can't see Ashley with Jimmy again. I guess I just see them as the junior high couple. Ashley and Jay...that could be fun.

Crash build up just for Cranny?

That's interesting. I'm not sure how dedicating RRHS and all those season 4 episodes to Crash, and then not giving Cranny much screen time in 5 makes sense. Especially since Craig's never talked about why Ash in 4 and Manny in 5. I still really would like to know what's up with that...mainly the Manny in Season 5. Crash making up in GITM was natural with all the build-up/fighting in Season 3. I'm sure they can do that again. It's going to take time though and I don't think it will be as dramatic as the comments exchanged in RRHS. Probably will be slightly awkward, then friends again. As for explaining taking back the girl he cheated on Ash with, maybe Craig could simply explain it to Ashley as a "I was scared and she's quick to give me a second chance."

That's how it looks to me.

He's not falling in love with anyone this season, so I think he is scared.

Jimash is just too safe. I see them being like Janny, where they date and then someone bails, probably Ash. Jimmy would've been with Ellie if she was interested.

I think the fact that Jimash didn't even have HALF the development that Janny did is good indication what will become of them in season 6. I'd be so pissed if they turned them into this huge supercouple like they were back in seasons 1 and 2. It IS wayyy too safe. They have nothing to go off of now, unlike back then, when they were bascially dating because of social status.

Crash was nothing like that at all, this was one of the couples who truly fell for the other because of who they were and not what they percieved them to be.

I think the angle they used in filming that clip made her look taller than she is, and him shorter than he is. Judging from past episodes, Mike looks to be about 5-10 or 5-11, which among the pantheon of Degrassi actors puts him on the high end of things. I think only Epstein and Aubrey are definitely taller him, maybe Shane but that's about it. She still might be taller than him, though, because she's definitely very tall, and when you add the times that she might be wearing shoes or boots with heels, it's definitely going to make her taller than most of her potenital mates in couple. And if the writers are worried about that, it might rule out the idea (however far fetched it might have been) of her getting together with a certain someone else that she had some uh...well...fun with at some point or another on the show.

Now, as far as Jay and Ashley as a couple? Well, I've said this a number of times and I'll say it again, Jay with any female on the show makes for an interesting couple imo.

Of course, Jay would have to get his butt back in school, or within the parameters of Degrassi. And he shouldn't let slip that he helped J.T. sell drugs....yeah, maybe they shouldn't talk much.

Yeah, Mel is considerably taller than Dan. Well, Nicole and Katie were taller than Tom Cruise. Meh.

I still think the kiss in HF was out of sympathy. Uh oh, might be like in Season 1 where Ashley tries to stay with Jimmy because she feels bad for him.

Crash compliments each other so well. It's not just a common interest. They didn't even have the music when they first started dating. It probably has more to do with the personality traits (like what we've said before). Despite all their angst, we see these moments where I think they really do bring out the best in each other or help each other grow in some way.

I think it was more to prove a point to stop his mopeyness, but I know exactly what you are saying. She loves Jimmy in the sense that she doesn't want to see him lonely/unhappy, but she doesn't necessarily want to be in a relationship with him (even though she would just, hence my former point). He is special to her life, but not quite the core shaker that Craig was to her (to quote Sex in the City, hee!). I think she loves him and cares for him in a platonic sense.

I think Jimmy is Ashley's Julia, so to speak. She has a fondness for him, but she carries someone else in her heart, like Joey did for Caitlin. Someone compared Joey to Ash once; it was actually pretty interesting because I usually compare Ash to Caitlin, but the post made sense. Don't remember where it is now.

Well adult!Joey is a lot like Ashley when it comes to making plans. I think both of them are being careful with every choice they make. The biggest risk Ashley has taken with her love life is Craig, Ali was a cop out on her part. Joey took a risk on Caitlin in Holiday, so thats something they have in commen. Plus in GDTR they contrasted Craig and Caitlin with the London issue. They both seem really rational compared to impulsive Craig and Caitlin. They had Joey and Caitlin switch roles in their relationship on TNG, that would be interesting if they did the same with Crash.

I think they used Ellie to soften Jimmy up and give him more depth so that he would be compatible with Ashley again. We know Ashley appreciates art in a way(IWC). I think they're gonna try it out, but I don't see how it will be the same because the only reason they ever fit together in the first place was because he was the cute jock and she was the most popular girl in school. Ashley changed first, but I don't think Jimmy changed enough for them to truly work together again. But you never know, we'll see once season six rolls in.

Cranny wasn't much of anything in seaosn five so it's rather odd how Crash, who got so much exposure in season four, could all just be considered "build up" for Cranny's bland, boring exsistence. When something is "built up," it's suppose to build up to something explosive. If anything was a build up, it was Crellie. And I don't mean for Cranny. Because Ellie is good friends with Ashley, she kind of has a connection with her. So for Ellie to become so close with Craig, it's almost like Ashley in some way is still there. Plus, while London helped Ashley become a more relaxed person, Ellie helped Craig cope with his bipolarity and be more calm and no longer crazy, which is something Ashley always worried about. So they've both changed a little.

Cranny's really just a footnote on everything. I feel like if they dropped her, nothing HUGE would be at stake. Craig, Ashley, and Ellie are the real story, and there's so many layers. If Cranny was anything but filler, they would've built them up in some way, but they spent Venus and HF circling back to the same thing-- How will Craig/Ellie's closeness play out, and will Ashley be a factor?

Ashley and Jay? Well, first of all I know Craig wouldn't like that very much.

But hmm...not sure how I feel about it. I wouldn't want her with gonorrhea infested, drug dealer Jay. He'd have to have cleaned up a lot...but still have that rebelious attitude. But I guess that would be a good coupling in the sense that what are the odds that it would get too serious?
Sean and Ash? bleh! I actually realized I think I just don't care for Sean that much in general!

He can go back to Emma though I don't want him with Ash!

Wow, Diana, you're one of the very few people that aren't too keen on Sean.

Seash is okay, but it's no CrAsh. I don't think there's a better suited guy for her than Craig, even though it's fun to think of other pairings.
