Alli/Clare appreciation thread #1. They may be "newbies," but their friendship is timeless!
Okay, yeah I'll admit that part of the reason I wanted to start this thread was because the Harriet the Spy movie featuring the both Aislinn and Melinda debuts on Friday night, but come on......there isn't a Alli/Clare friendship thread, and we totally need one.
So let's start talking all things Alli and Clare. :D Sorry Jenna. :P |
I completely agree we need one! I absolutely love their friendship. I never thought it would be my favorite, but I actually like the Clare/Alli friendship the most from Degrassi.
I like that they complete each other. I'm a little scared to think where Alli would be if Clare's reason did hold back her impulsiveness a little bit. On the other hand I think Clare would be missing out on a lot if not for Alli. She'd probably be sitting home doing homework in her uniform still. I was a little worried about them at the beginning of the season. But I think they've come back really strong in the past few episodes. I thought they were adorable in SMU. But I think Heart of Glass will always be my favorite Calli episode. I loved that Clare put her judgements aside and was supportive of Alli. I'm really looking forward to Harriet tonight. I'm curious how Melinda and Aislinn do as rivals. I can't wait to see more of them~ |
Aislinn to the rescue! Well, she couldn't rescue most of the plot of that movie. Some things are beyond help. :P
As for Alli and Clare, I think it's the core friendship on the show right now, at least among the girls. We should see lots of them in S10, if not the remaining episodes of S9. Sadly, that probably means we'll see some cracks at some point in their relationship, but I feel confident about them for the long haul. :) I agree about them in Heart of Glass, I loved that episode and they were among my favorite parts of it. |
I'm so glad someone started this thread. They are by far my favorite friendship on the show right now and I really do think that they could last as long as Emma and Manny did. I love how they support each other, like how Clare was there for Alli in Heart of Glass and how a Alli was there for Clare when her and KC broke up. I'm really excited to see how their friendship will evolve.

Me too! I loved that cute pic of them walking together~
I feel like this will be a sequel in a way to SMU so I'm curious to see Alli again being supportive of Clare. Looks like she was giving Clare some advice in the promo so I think it would be cool if we saw them switch their ususal roles for an episode. |

They (easily) have my favourite friendship on the show right now. I enjoyed them in S8, and even more now in S9. |

:lol: I just came across that old thread too because you got me digging around. It's good to see that people seem to have warmed up to them, as well as the other newbies. I remember I had some hesitation with the two because it seemed like their friendship was a little bit forced because they had to interact because they were in the gifted program. In season 9 they grew on me and are much more convincing.
