what is a blog?
question> after it's answered, mods can please close. unless it sparks conversations...which i highly doubt. but as asked in the title:
What is a "blog". I'm doin' this survey, and it asked me "how many blogs do I read" or something like that, and I'm like "what's a 'blog'?" So I do this internet search and I find all this crap but nothing definitive that explains what EXACTLY a blog is. Is it like a pop-up ad or something? I figured if I came here, someone would know. The Off-Topic is the perfect place to get REAL answers real fast. I'm still doin't he survey, so someone please tell me what this is so I can answer that question as an "informed" participant of the survey. Thanks muy muchness guys. Blog is short for web-log. It's an online diary.

It's like a Live Journal only more personal? Where you post your thoughts, or about your day... at least, that's how I'd describe it ..

It's an online diary. Good ones are livejournal and blogger.com.

OOOOH! the web diaries!
Is that all? cuz this one site bloggers.com or some crap has this whole format they're trying to sell and this other site was trying to teach people how to create their own blogs in "3 easy steps". ugh:d'oh: I would have never guessed in a million years that a blog was an online journal. Yep, online journal.. But be careful because anything personal you put on the web can be read by anyone.

But most of them have like a screening process, where you can post to only certain groups or to your self. I know lj and the like is like that.
