Is this weird???
I took my tonsils out a few months ago, so I'm not supposed to have any strep throat anymore, right? Well I woke up right now because during the whole night my throat was hurting so much, as if someone had scratched it. I can barely swallow. It hurts so bad.
I don't understand why this is happening and I think it's very weird. Has it happened to anyone else before? |

I've actually been told that if you get your tonsils removed, you'll be more likely to develop a throat infection because they provide some sort of protection. I don't know if it's true, though...

I'd suggest calling your doctor just to be sure. Hope you're feeling better soon.

You probably didn't entirely recover yet. Ask your doctor. Take care, Ledi.

You can still get strep throat even without tonsils. You cannot get tonsilitis, but you can still get sore throats and strep throat. If you think you have strep throat it would be best to go to your doctor. I had my tonsils out in December 2002.
