NO freaking jobs!

I am living with my parents in the middle of the country in freaking Nebraska until I go to school in August...this is ridiculous! There are NO JOBS anywhere. I have applied to so many places, called classified/help wanted ads, NOTHING! Not even Wal-Mart is hiring and they are usually always looking for help...I can't believe it and I thought the economy was improving! I liked it better when the economy was bad and all they had were temporary jobs. Now all they want are permanent help or no help at all at least where I'm at!

Wow, that sucks. Yeah, I've been in that situation too. Always demanding candidates to have "experience" to fill permanent positions. Blah. You gotta network with ppl, only 20% of available jobs are advertised.

Awww Hope something comes up soon. I guess the only thing to do is hand out CV's everywhere, even if they don't have signs up saying they're hiring. Good luck, Matt.

I hate how so many jobs require previous experience. They can't really expect people to be experienced in everything, especially when they're just being introduced to the job market...

Dude, you live in NEBRASKA. Of course there's no jobs. That state is a barren wasteland.

I thought only farmers and truckers lived there.

Still, there's got to be some local stores in that area. People there have to eat and dress themselves...

I applied to the place where i did some work experience last year through school, which looks promising. I've also looked around some banks/building societies that are recruiting at the moment. I NEED a holiday job.

I think the whole U.S. is really suffering from job loss right now. My poor dad lost his job after 9/11 and he still hasn't found anything even to this day.

If there's a temp agency around you try there. That's how I got my job at Novartis and I get paid pretty well. Good luck!
