How much do you spend to put gas in your car now?

With the lovely soar in gas prices, I spent $23 to fill up my Honda Civic and it was only slightly below the half mark. How about you guys?

It's 3.10 - 3.39 here. So I just put like 10 or 20 when I have it.

I filled up my little Chevy S-10 on Tuesday at $2.38 a gallon. Today I put gas in my mother's Jeep, for $3.19. It was a little over half empty and it cost almost $30 to fill it up.

The thing I can't figure, the second the hurricane shut down the refineries in the gulf of mexico, the prices jumped almost fifty cents. It's insane, because they hadn't even paid for their next shipment, which is where the wholesale price would have gone up. They already had the supplies in their tanks, so why raise it until it's costing them the higher price. Definite gouging.

I anticipated the jump in gas prices so I filled up before it happened. But, it was still expensive. I put in 3/4 of a tank (9.08 gallons) and spent $25. So, I'm avoiding any driving whatsoever.

Those gas companies figure they can raise the prices because they know people will be willing to pay the price. We need the fuel to get to where we need to go - at least here in Florida it's that way. I really miss those days when I used to get premium gas for like a $1.25/gal.
