Welcome! This is the Getting to 10,000 Posts thread, where we all post incessantly until we reach our personal posting goals! Somehow a little thread about wanting to get to ten thousand posts turned into this huge frenzying monster!

What is this thread about? POSTING! This is the place to talk about what your post-count goals might be--for the day, the week, even the month! It's also a place where you can make milestone posts, and be applauded by all who are here. Whether you're trying to make 100 posts to get that custom avie, or are well past 10,000 posts and headed for the ranks of FF's busiest posters, this is the place to be!
So, what is this thread really about? Isn't it just "star posting"? This thread is not a place to make completely random posts, just to increase your post count. It's also not a place where double- or triple-posting is encouraged, though it can happen accidentally. However, this is often what is known as a "conversation (or convo) thread." People are here to chat about anything and everything, to get to know each other, and to create solid FF friendships. You'll find everyone here to be friendly and supportive. We're just one big Bunny family!

So what? What’s important about all of this? Why don’t we stay on topic more often? Well, who better to explain it then a mod:

But the way it's set up right now is for people to get together and chat OT, getting to know each other while once in a while, they would celebrate their milestones for their number of posts. Like "Hey, you guys, I just past 7,000 posts!" And then 2 weeks later, "8,000 posts! Yay!" People wanted an OT thread on this board and it was a difficult thing to do given it's already OT board, so this is the best way because there is a basic topic and we just expand to all kinds of convo from there without forgetting about the topic altogether. The topic of "number of posts" would still come up on a regular basis as people reach their current posting goals so that there's still a topic in discussion, rather than a group of people sharing an interest.....cuz that would go to Communities Board.”

Who's who around here? Our mods are quarterley (Cindy), Sick Boy (Los, or Carlos) and Yellow Mustang Girl (Carol). They drop by semi-regularly to participate in the festivities. You'll also find plenty of mods from other boards just stopping in to post awhile. While we don't have formal "thread owners" or anything, by consensus the BBOT's (Big Bunnies On Thread) are Wild Pikachu (Pika), **Courtney**, lh2005 (Louise), Berkie, LittleMilkJug (Devon), gackasplash37 (Rachel), goldenpuppies at heart (Sharon) , DJDonkeyGirl (Deej) and PPD (Peanut). They are usually responsible for starting new threads, keeping things going, and generally minding the thread.

What is this "Bunny" thing? Around thread #8, when it was becoming clear that this "10,000 Posts" concept wasn't going to just fade away, Alea came up with the idea of starting a list of people who just post and post and post here. She also came up with the name "Energizer Bunnies," and so that's what we are.

Congrats! It's a baby thread!

On July 13, 2005 at 10:40 am (Central Time) this thread gave birth to a beautiful baby thread. "Bunnies Who Love Harry Potter" was created by Bunnies who have a love for Harry Potter that cannot be contained. As our conversations tended to overpower this thread, we made a new home on the Communities board. Come join us if you ever feel the Harry Potter love.

Special Thread Rule:

This thread is for everyone to get to know each other and have fun while celebrating post counts. If you come into the thread not liking the conversation that is currently going on, please do not criticize on the thread. You can start a new conversation to change the subject, you can come back later, you can PM one of the people involved in that conversation and politely ask them to change the subject. But it is not necessary to either:

1. Take it personally and leave the thread for good.

2. Make any kind of response that would make people feel like they are doing something wrong. Responses such as telling people to go somewhere else to talk about what they are talking about right now or posting a rolleyes smilie or saying how you are annoyed/upset/disturbed/not posting and just going back to lurking etc. Please try to understand that posters may not be talking about a particular subject just to irritate others or to drive others away. They are just having fun and don't see anything wrong with their current subject.

Please be aware that this thread currently having 100+ bunnies and is still growing...is a large community thread. We all have different backgrounds and interests. It is important to understand that and try to get along with each other. If you seem to be talking about a subject for pages already, consider changing it to something else, especially when new bunnies hop in. If someone PMs you to tell you that they have a problem with the current discussion, please take into consideration that maybe you did went overboard a little and not everyone is comfortable with the convo. Please do not take it as a personal offense unless the poster was rude about it.

Bottom line is...this is not a clique thread. Of course there will be bunnies you are closer to or talk to more often but it is for everyone, not just for one or two groups of people. Multiple conversations can happen at the same time, there is nothing wrong with that especially when many are posting. Please do not feel like you are being isolated if you don't like the topic at hand. For those already posting on the thread, please welcome the bunnies who just got on the thread and include them in your conversations the best you can. Thank you.
